New Asus RT-N65U Dualband Wireless N750 Gigabit Router

:) :) :) Well I seemed to have finally solved my problem with my USB 3 HDD causing issues with the 2.4Ghz WiFi connections. Here's what I did: First, I bought another USB 3 HDD (A Toshiba Canvio) and it caused the same problems with the 2.4Ghz as my Seagate Backup+ 2TB HDD...

New Asus RT-N65U Dualband Wireless N750 Gigabit Router

Interesting stuff. Although my rt-n65u gets fairly warm I don't loose any sleep over it. I did briefly have a USB 3.0 stick connected and after removing it found the stick had become a little to hot for my personal comfort. That's why I got an external USB 3 HDD. The HDD case and cable temp...

New Asus RT-N65U Dualband Wireless N750 Gigabit Router

I do love me some Monoprice. Unfortunately they don't seem to sell any USB 3.0 Micro cables. Since that's what the HDD I have uses I'll have to buy Monoprices adapter. Their CS rep said it has sufficient shielding. Had I known that USB 3 caused interference with 2.4Ghz I would've purchased...

New Asus RT-N65U Dualband Wireless N750 Gigabit Router

I'm pretty sure you are correct sir. I removed the USB 3 HDD and cable and put in a Corsair Voyager GT thumb drive and it caused the same issues on the 2.4Ghz. So I thought, maybe if I wrapped the flash drive in aluminum foil it won't interfere with the 2.4Ghz... And amazingly that...

New Asus RT-N65U Dualband Wireless N750 Gigabit Router

2.4Ghz N problem when using USB 3 drive I bought my n65u last week. Out of the box it has the exact same issue as the person on Amazon is having. AKA: 2.4Ghz Wireless N performance is MAJORLY kneecapped when you (dare I say it) actually connect a USB 3.0 HDD to either USB3.0 port. My...

    ASUS RT-N56U beta firmware

Very 1st post of this thread, on the 8/12 update. I've had no problems with that firmware in any areas including: 2.4 and 5 Ghz WiFi Connection Media Server VPN Wake on LAN (and from VPN) XBOX Live Netflix (via PS3) Again, those are all working perfectly with the Beta Version 3.0.0.4_206 firmware.

    RT-N56U-New Firmware (3.0.0.4.318)-Feedback?

Whoops. How'd I miss that...yikes. OK well, with 260 I seemed to have been able to get the Wireless G clients fairly stable (with an average ping response of about 10ms when pinged 20 times) by adjusting these settings like so: Wifi Settings: 2.4Ghz settings b/g protection off Channel...

    RT-N56U-New Firmware (3.0.0.4.318)-Feedback?

I'm using .260 right now and although all the remote features work (VPN, WoL, RDP) my Wireless G clients are all screwy. Pinging the router from a G client results with an average response of ~504ms. I searched "189" and came up with nothing...As long as ver 189 still has miniDLNA and VPN...

    RT-N56U-New Firmware (3.0.0.4.318)-Feedback?

Feedback time OK tried the .317 firmware and it still had the same Remote Desktop connectivity issues as .318. Thanks though.

    RT-N56U-New Firmware (3.0.0.4.318)-Feedback?

.318 gave me no issues with 2.4Ghz in terms of clients being dropped from wifi...but WIRED web browsing was slow and would often just hang. Also had sporadic problems with Remote Desktop connections from inside and outside my local network. VPN, WoL and miniDLNA worked correctly. (Went back...

    ASUS RT-N56U beta firmware

I'm going back to .206 as well. I'm having issues with Remote Desktop stability when inside and outside of my home network w/ .318. .206...not to be confused with .260 that also gave me wireless G issues.

    ASUS RT-N56U beta firmware

Small bug, and easy fix Hi, I'm using firmware 3.0.0.4.318 After upgrading from .260 none of my five PCs were seeing the SMB share from the RTN56u. (They were still seeing the DLNA "Media Device" RTN56U, however). SMB was enabled and correctly configured in aiDisk in .206 as well as .318...

    ASUS RT-N56U beta firmware

Hi all. Using the 3.0.0.4.260 firmware and it is incredible! It has all the features that the "homebrew" versions did...but all the features I need (VPN, WoL, miniDLNA) all actually work with my equipment (PS3)! Thank you! Quick question though, typically in the miniDLNA "Media...
