    AiMesh with 7 RT-AC68U - a single node is constantly crashing/rebooting

Ah! Lol This is in the country side with no other houses nearby that could generate noise so I doubt it would make too much of a difference (unless there's some other device generating interference in the 5GHz channel.... Unlikely but always possible).

    AiMesh with 7 RT-AC68U - a single node is constantly crashing/rebooting

I found a solution to my issue. I have a bunch of different revisions of the RT-AC68U from the 1st ones available to the latest V3 revision. I had a revision A1 in the trouble spot as the wireless backhaul node. I switched it with a newer V3 from another node and now everything works as...

    AiMesh with 7 RT-AC68U - a single node is constantly crashing/rebooting

Hi! I have 7 RT-AC68U in a AiMesh config with 5 nodes connected via ethernet and 1 node connected via WiFi: I had a bit of trouble setting these up. Initially I tried flashing merlin firmware v386.3_2 on every router (both main router and nodes) but it always failed at 1% when adding a new...

Is there a good 5G modem that supports bridge mode? I got tired of the unreliability of the Asus 4G-AC68U

Hi there! I live in a rural area where cellular network is the only decent internet option. Currently I have an Asus 4G-AC68U as my modem/main router to the entire house but I really want to use something to do a better job because the Asus unit is terrible in performance and reliability: I...

    4G-AC68U Version 9.0.0.4.384.81390 Beta

Yup, the support has been atrocious and I truly regret not following the advice many users gave me of using a dedicated 4g modem with bridge mode connected to a router instead. They had a bug for several months where the 4g adapter would disappear once a week and required a factory settings...

    4G-AC68U Version 9.0.0.4.384.81390 Beta

After more than an year without a FW update Asus finally released a beta update: I installed it a few days ago (with complete settings reset and manually configuring everything again) and it seems to be working well. The only issue I had was when I tried to enable Traffic Analyzer the router...

Aimesh - Did anyone give up?

At my parents huge house I had a 4G-AC68 and a RT-AC68 in AiMesh config in a Lan with also a rt-ac1200g+, two rt-n66 and a ea-n66. I had to give up on aimesh between the two ac68 because the internet would slow down to a crawl and failing many requests on the 4G connection after a day or two...

    Nat loopback on Asus DSL-AC68U?

Both RT-AC68 and 4G-AC68 support nat loopback so I imagine the DSL-AC68 would also support it. EDIT: my old DSL-N55 also supported it.

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.10007 for All Supported Products

Hum... I still have the same issue that I had on the betas. My setup: Modem <-- ethernet cable --> RT-AC68U as router <-- ethernet cable --> RT-AC68U as node <-- ethernet cable --> PC Issue: Although the backhaul is configured as ethernet my max speed is still only around 350Mbps: If I...

    Is there any 4G-AC55U successor?

It seems Asus just released the 4G-AC68U: https://www.asus.com/Networking/4G-AC68U/ I'll just wait for it to be available in Europe.

    Is there any 4G-AC55U successor?

Thanks for the suggestion but without a clear compatibility guarantee I won't go for that solution. It's really a pain trying to have a decent internet connection in a rural zone. I finally got a service with minimum decent speeds and data cap only to find myself in the crap that is the 4G...

    Is there any 4G-AC55U successor?

Hi! Currently I'm using a crappy huawei 4g modem provided by my ISP with a RT-AC68U on DMZ. This solution is sucks for a lot of reasons and the huawei modem is quite unstable. I wanted a more integrated solution and the 4G-AC55U seems quite nice but it's getting a bit outdated. Do any of you...
