    Solved this issue by selectively unsetting certain variables, mainly wlan and vpn related, instead of indiscriminately running the script. I still think this router model, while wildly popular, may have run its course. I am now running 386.10

    I think my loss of access issue is due to modifications made to the NVRAM. The script I have created removes all variables with no set value but this doesn't seem to be working for ASUS stock firmware either as I keep getting locked out, can't even use SSH key with puTTY Is there another way to...

    I spoke too soon. When rebooting it goes through the upgrade process again. I installed the update by clicking the notification bell, same place where NVRAM notifications show, then clicking the link to upgrade/update Been running 386.9 since Jan 18 without problems. The radio button is for...

    After resetting it goes back to 386.9 which is the same version under which I saved the config file. I was able to disable auto update but getting the low on NVRAM space message again. So I ran my NVRAM cleaning script and I am good to go.

    After the update I lost access but the router appears to operate normally. I used the 5 second reset button option and reloaded a saved configuration file and I regained access. After modifying a few settings I ignored the update prompt but when I rebooted it it re-installed the update. This...
