    Wifi transmit power could also be increased in these situations, I don't remember if stock firmware has that setting though.

    I've recently had internet connection problems too, and I thought that they were caused by ISP or modem. Maybe it isn't so.. I'm running v101 64 AIO, and I've had to log on to the router to renew the wan dhcp to get connection back up again. Now I can't even log in, browser gives network error...

    NAS vs. external HDD attached to router

    Howabout lifespan, will external HDD die well before a real NAS? As far as I know, some NAS devices can spin down disks if there is no usage for a while to conserve them and so on.
