AC68U Wi-FI radical fluctuations on two different routers

Like ozarkedge says could be poweroutlet or your extension/strip. if two routers are doing the same thing, doubt your router is the issue.

Asus 86U or TP-Link AC4000 for the Same Price?

What did you end up doing? I'm pondering literally the same thing but two years after you :) Wondering whether to get the ac4000 next time it's on sale at costco (they had it for 100 a couple months ago but i wasn't looking then)?

Administration- ASUS notice (for privacy) -- where is the withdraw option located?

Thank you all for helping out. The screenshot from ColDen makes it quite clear that the withdraw link/button should it exist will be on the privacy page itself. I do not have that button available, which i will take as an indication that the parental-controls feature does not send out any data...

Administration- ASUS notice (for privacy) -- where is the withdraw option located?

In my router, the "Administration - ASUS NOTICE( for privacy )" contains the following verbiage: "Please note that users are required to agree to share their information before using DDNS, Remote Connection (ASUS Router APP、Lyra APP、AiCloud、AiDisk), AiProtection, Traffic analyzer, Apps...

Devices connected to Yazfi guest ssid -- how to find/monitor them?

Thank you! Indeed I do see them in system-log---wireless-log. Also noted your additional viewing tips.

Guest Network - No internet access

I had followed the steps in the reddit link to a T. Only the LAN menu's DNS1 entry has the pi-hole IP in it. The WAN has quad-nine. I might still use diversion within the router sometime (i only just migrated from stock asuswrt to merlin) but for the near term will stick with the pi-hole. For...

Devices connected to Yazfi guest ssid -- how to find/monitor them?

I managed get a YazFi based guest ssid running and have a bunch of devices working properly. That said, I appear to no longer have visibility into the various (guest ssid connected) devices and their status i .e. whether they are connected to my network, their IP addresses, their mac-ids etc...

Guest Network - No internet access

I have the OP’s problem as well. My guest ssid devices have no internet access likely for the reason he explained. I have pi-hole as my dns server hooked up to the router and would like to preserve qos feature like you. My only question is if i follow your link’s steps and additionally configure...

Scheduled blocking of internet by mac id

Thank you! for linking that blogpost. I will try the sample script in it (assuming that the article also explains where/how to deploy it) and get back with the results.

Scheduled blocking of internet by mac id

I just finished migrating from ancient stock asuswrt to the latest (non beta) merlin firmware - i had to do the intermediate “55” version first and overall went smoothly. But now I’m a bit shocked :) to find that parental controls now come with a revised set of privacy terms. I am only...

Interesting ac-68 guest network devices behavior with pi-hole

Thank you for the suggestions, appreciate your taking the time. Will try them out this weekend.

Interesting ac-68 guest network devices behavior with pi-hole

Yes thanks, I did end up finding those entries with status "ok forwarded" under 192.168.1.1 -- i suppose i can surmise which device the traffic is from based on the contacted domains but it doesn't appear possible to search/list traffic exclusively from tv (intent is to selectively blacklist). I...

Interesting ac-68 guest network devices behavior with pi-hole

Would I gain any more insight than possible currecntly if I used a pi-hole that could also connect to the 5ghz guest ssid? (because I've seen many posts stating that to get pi-hole benefits for guest ssid devices, a separate pi-hole must monitor the guest-ssid). That said clearly that traffic is...

Interesting ac-68 guest network devices behavior with pi-hole

Thank you. In case (1) is not abnormal behavior, is there any way for me to view/understand what (urls, when/what) from the TV is being suppressed? I'm glad to have the tv under the pi-hole umbrella but some visibility would be nice particularly when the IP addresses are in the same subnet...

Interesting ac-68 guest network devices behavior with pi-hole

I am running stock fw on ac-68 and connected a pi-hole into the router. The whole setup overall works as intended and does what I want. However, in addition to the LAN and main wifi ssid, I have a guest wifi ssid that runs the tv and a iphone, neither of these devices show up in the pi-hole...
