Adding a node to AiMesh prevents me from being able to cast and from being able to access Nest devices.

I was able to get things up and running by swapping out the AX router for an AC68U...both on the newest firmware. Security camera is installed and working properly. Thanks!

Adding a node to AiMesh prevents me from being able to cast and from being able to access Nest devices.

Extending my WiFi network is all new to me...I looked up what "repeater mode" is and attempted to set that up on the ax1800. When setting it up, it appeared to create to new SSIDs (one for the 2.4 signal and one for the 5 signal). Is that how it should work? I would then have to have the...

Adding a node to AiMesh prevents me from being able to cast and from being able to access Nest devices.

Would it be worth trying to swap out the ax1800 with an acXX model? I can likely get one fairly cheap via eBay or similar.

Adding a node to AiMesh prevents me from being able to cast and from being able to access Nest devices.

I have an RT-AC88U as my main wireless router and it has been rock-solid. I recently added a RT-AX1800S as an AiMesh Node so that I would have a robust signal for a security camera that will be installed above my garage. I am able to get the Node added to my AiMesh network, but once it is up...

I would love to know your thoughts on the switch...I am looking at doing the exact same switch.

ASUS RT-AC86U Dual Band AC2900 Wireless Router Reviewed

I normally would "upgrade" when a new wireless spec (a, b, g, n, ac, etc.) is formalized...however, I have never had a router that is as trouble-free as the N66U...it is rock solid. Now that all my devices are AC capable...I am just looking for an AC router that gives me enough of a benefit to...

So the main benefit is file sharing speed between my devices?

ASUS RT-AC86U Dual Band AC2900 Wireless Router Reviewed

Any big advantages with the AC86U over the RT-N66U (my current router)? My Xbox One X is hardwired. I do SOME file sharing between my two computers from time to time. All my wireless devices are AC capable.

    Playing Media From a NAS

Can I create ISO files from my DVD movies, store them on a NAS, and then watch them on my networked devices? If so, is there any particular NAS that is needed or particular software?

    N66U Attached USB Drive Question

I would like to start ripping my DVD collection and be able to view them throughout the house without using the physical discs. Can I rip them to ISO files, put them on a portable hard drive, attached the hard drive to the 66U and then watch the movies on my networked devices? FYI...I am...

Two Wireless Routers - One Modem

Looking to try something I have never done. I have several devices that support N and several that only support G. I currently use an old G router (Buffalo WHR-HP-G54) that has great range, but has one bad ethernet port on the back. I have a newer N router (Buffalo WZR-HP-G450H). I...

Looking for advice from the experts....

I currently use an older Buffalo G router. One of the 4 ports where wired networked items connect is not working anymore, but everything else is working well. I am considering "upgrading" my router and am curious if there is a need to do so. Regarding performance, the only thing I care...

Newer router help with wired connections?

Ok. I am on the 20MB down and 2 MB up plan with my ISP provider. My Buffalo router (WHR-HP-G54) is rated 10/100 MBps on the wired side of things. So, if I understand you correctly... a router with much higher throughput all-around will not help on the wired connections (not including files...

Newer router help with wired connections?

I have an older G router that has been working like a champ for quite some time. If I purchase a newer router with a higher all-around throughput such as the ASUS n56u, will my wired connections see an improvement? Basically, I would like to know if a router with higher throughput will improve...
