Not getting an ipv6 address with Merlin on a RT-AC5300

I don't have a way to verify this cause that router is no longer with me but if I were to guess, i'd say it was 378.56_0 Everyone, I very much appreciate all the brainstorming despite the lack of a solution. Thanks!

Not getting an ipv6 address with Merlin on a RT-AC5300

Just for the heck of it, I plugged in a Netgear R8300 from a friend to see if it would get an ipv6 address. It did. We also tried a different Asus AC5300 to rule out that I have bad hardware, same result on the swapped AC5300... no ipv6.

Nope, no device is acting as a DHCP/DNS server. The network that I have consists of : a few computers phones gaming devices home automation devices like thermostats, light switches, etc. In short, nothing extraordinary. Despite the thrashing, all devices are online. I did turn on MU-MIMO, but...

Done... no change in status of ipv6. Actually, the DNS settings was "default" all along and I just switched it to the custom DNS to see if it would do the trick.

@ColinTaylor Here's a screenshot of System Log -> IPv6. @john9527 switched DHCP query freq to "normal" and rebooted. No change.

Not getting an ipv6 address with Merlin on a RT-AC5300

@jegesq The old one was exhibiting the same behavior so I thought it was the modem and therefore I switched it out. New one has the same issue as the old one. After switching it out, I called Comcast to have them switch out the MAC addresses so that the new modem would be provisioned/added to...

Not getting an ipv6 address with Merlin on a RT-AC5300

@jegesq I was thinking the same but then ended up discarding that train of thought because every time I plug in a laptop directly into the cable modem, it gives out an ipv6 address without fail. Have now tried with 4 diff laptops, all successfully get an ipv6 address. Also, the only line in the...

Not getting an ipv6 address with Merlin on a RT-AC5300

@ColinTaylor tried that, no luck. @john9527 DNS Filter was already off. Just to leave no stone unturned, I also reset the firmware back to factory settings and as soon as it came back up, before I made any changes anywhere, I checked the ipv6 tab... was blank. If it was any of my settings...

Not getting an ipv6 address with Merlin on a RT-AC5300

Hmmm, I don't have custom DNS servers in the LAN pages. I did add them a while ago but removed them so I am surprised to see that the setting still persists. Any way to manually remove this since, and as you can see from the screenshot below, I don't have any DNS server entry on the LAN page...

Not getting an ipv6 address with Merlin on a RT-AC5300

Opened all of those files in vi but did not get any warning. When I "cat" the files on command line, there's no funny chars at the end of line either. /tmp/resolv.dnsmasq and /e t c/hosts.dnsmasq are empty.

Both those directories are empty. I searched everywhere for files named "dnsmasq*". Results are in the attached screenshot.
