Yeah, who knows. This router has a relatively short history - it was bought about two months ago then I did a factory reset and new config build of it with your 386.1 firmware, if that helps narrow down where something might not have changed that setting.
Here is the output of that command from 386.1:
admin@hostredacted:/tmp/home/root# nvram show | grep jffs2
size: 76019 bytes (55053 left)
jffs2_enable=1
jffs2_format=0
jffs2_on=0
jffs2_scripts=0
Output on 386.1_2:
admin@hostredacted:/tmp/home/root# nvram show | grep jffs2
size: 71675 bytes...
OK, it's showing unmounted. Really, really weird that 386.1 mounts it without issue, even after repeated downgrades:
By comparison, the same screen in 386.1:
I see plenty of logs complaining about /jffs/ not being mounted, but no log entries that seem to say why.
Guessing I should just...
I am also seeing this with 386.1 and 386.1_2 on a RT-AC3100 that was factory reset before putting 386.1 on it and it was put into AiMesh mode.
Another workaround is to toggle the LEDs on (even though they're already on) and off again in the web interface of the master router at AiMesh > [click...
OK, I upgraded to 386.1_2. and checked in there, all keys were blank. I had saved them before the upgrade and pasted them in and hit save. Once again, the VPN server didn't start - checked there again and all the keys are blank again.
Is there some sort of JFFS issue perhaps? In 386.1_2 I don't...
For OVPN Server 1 (working on 386.1):
AES-128-GCM:AES-256-GCM:AES-128-CBC:AES-256-CBC
For OVPN Server 2 (in default config, not used):
AES-128-GCM:AES-256-GCM:BF-CBC
Interesting differences regardless of whether this is implicated in the problem with 386.1_2.
The OpenVPN server fails to start at all on 386.1_2 on the RT-AX88U. This is using the same config that works fine on 386.1.
To attempt to troubleshoot, I tried to enable OVPN server 2, which I don't use, in its default configuration to see if that worked, but it also failed to start with the...
386.1_2 breaks OpenVPN completely for me on the RT-AX88U. Downgrading it to 386.1 restored it with the same config. I didn't see anything in the changelog that would be an obvious culprit.
To attempt to troubleshoot, I tried to enable OVPN server 2, which I don't use, in its default...
Nope, that isn't an issue here. Even if I manually clear the admin username field at the top of the page, it still won't save, the error being:
Username cannot be blank.
The problem here seems to be that it's requiring fields that haven't changed in order to apply changes.
I think this is a new bug in the web interface in 384.18. On this version on the RT-AC3100, I was trying to change the scheduled reboots (Date to Reboot) setting on the Administration > System page. This is the only setting I am currently trying to change on this page. Upon clicking the Apply...
Thank you each for your replies. I am happy to report that reformatting the drives as NTFS allows both to be recognized and at USB 3.0 speeds. Fortunately, that ASUS page seems out of date for the drive size maximums.
Greetings all. I'm running the latest Merlin firmware (384.14_2) on a RT-AC3100. I currently have a WD 4TB hard drive attached on the USB 3.0 port at 3.0 speeds and it works great. However, the disk is nearly full and I would like to replace it with one of two WD hard drives I have already...
