Yes the whole server and clients came up after restore and rebooting the router without clicking around. Your manual is working 100 %.
Firmware version on my RTAX86U is the latest available 3004.388.9_2.
Both before and after factory reset and after every reboot this error came back...

Guess i found the problem, I get no new handshake. Tried with 2 different VPN (nvpn/mullvad).
the latest handshake counter is going up, i get no new connection.
(When my DSL is reconnected every 24h, i get a new IP from my provider.)

I suggest you schedule a cron job to dump diagnostics to Syslog, to give you a definitive indication of when (and how) the issue occurs.
I have the same problem and need to restart wgm. Restart wg11 doesn´t help.
The problem is the daily forced disconnection ( every 24h) of DSL access.

I reset my router some days ago and
tried the config explained here with X3mRouting, unbound and OpenVPN (hiding my local DNS IP).
It didn't work for me so I switched back my old config without X3mRouting
I edited the unbound.conf and the firewall-start to got my VPN Client(mobile) working...
