FS: Arris SurfBoard Cable Modem - SB6190

Good to hear Samir! I never had issues with it either just got the upgrade to Gigablast Internet from COX my ISP and didn’t need it anymore but it never gave me issues either while I used it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    UBNT vs. MikroTik

How do I find out what are Cox hosted sites? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    UBNT vs. MikroTik

Agreed...and well, and its just inconsistent, I use the thick client from Speedtest on this Mac, it auto selects the closest location, which for some reason thinks is pretty far south of OKC where I live (actually North suburb called Edmond), and the speeds start off looking normal for download...

    UBNT vs. MikroTik

Yeah, the TP-Link Archer C5400X has 1.8GHz 64-bit quad-core CPU and is powered by a low-powered 28nm Broadcom Cortex-A53 chip, which coordinates every process to reduce transmission delay, Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    UBNT vs. MikroTik

So my MacPro has: 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, think thats the bottle neck? The router has 4 cores as well, none of them look maxed. Here was my DSL Report: http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest/28908469

    UBNT vs. MikroTik

So far all I am testing with is wired. It’s a TP-Link AC5400 MU-MIMO router. What part would be the bottleneck? The CPU? RAM? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    UBNT vs. MikroTik

So I've been doing that DSL Reports speed test recently and I am very curious to what I'm seeing. I pay for Gigbit/Gigablast, 1GB right, I don't know what Cox guarantee's but what DSL Reports tells me is well short of what I think I'm supposed to get. I'm able to get A+/A on the bufferbloat and...

    UBNT vs. MikroTik

Ok, and thats what I thought, it was more to do with my internal traffic. So when you say WAN link I have, you mean link to my house once it comes from Cox (WAN), hits my routers and goes throughout my network internal (LAN), thats where the QoS helps?

    UBNT vs. MikroTik

Now you're talking more my language. One of my friends was chatting me up about his setup with pfSense, he's using a Lenovo TS140 and has vSphere installed and is running VM servers and one is for pfSense. I'll look into some of these options you've mentioned and play with the pfSense some. I am...

    UBNT vs. MikroTik

So, tell me in some lamens terms, is there a router/switch/hardware that can handle the 1GB (900ish down, 500ish up) internet speeds, I've read some specs of some of the EdgeRouters and they only capable of up to like 200Mbps etc...I want something to work well with my Gigablast speeds, hardware...

    UBNT vs. MikroTik

Speaking of pfsense, I have a TP-Link Archer C2600 router that was a beta test unit they gave me when it ended. I've since gotten a newer one to beta test, but was thinking I might use that C2600 and try to play with and learn DD-WRT, throw it on there. Its not on their compatibility list...

    UBNT vs. MikroTik

Wow that was a lot of info to digest, but the kind of feedback I was looking for, till you went over my head with some of it, lol. Thanks! Your analogies made sense though. So the UBNT stuff I've actually been looking at is not the EdgeRouters, but more the UniFi stuff, I guess you're not a...
