    Thanks ScottW and Samosa! I still have a couple of weeks to return/exchange the RT-AC5300, so I've changed the bandwidth to "40 MHz" to see if it lasts longer than a week. BTW, is this issue specific to 5GHz-2? 5GHz-1 seems fine. Are there drawbacks to using the official 382.xx firmware?

    I recently upgrade from the RT-N66U to the RT-AC5300 and the 5GHz speed was a night and day improvement. I had installed Merlin 380.68_4 right away. However, I noticed that the 5GHz-2 band seems to gradually slow down over the course of a week until my iPhone 6 shows that there's no internet...
