Hi all - got my RT-BE88U connected to a DSL Modem via WAN Port 1. It currently looks like the associated Asus Interface is using a dynamic MAC adresses as it shows with chaning ones on the DSL modem side. Is this something I am dreaming or has this been seen by anybody else? And if so, is there...
Quick update - figured that DDNS was switched on which seemed to have a negative impact to responsiveness. After another reboot it looks like the UI is faster than before but still away from the snappy UI I experienced on my AX88U Pro.
Works well on my new BE88U - the only challenge I've recognized is a super laggy UI compared to my AX88U Pro. Building up the initial screen after login takes nearly a minute, same when switching to the Tools Menue. Will do another Reboot via Power Off to see if any difference.
Hmmm ... I thought the XD 5 is an AX3000 V1 in a different housing? And AX3000 should be the same HW as the AX58U - at least according to the Merlin download repository. BUT: The FW file extensions are different and therefore could not be uploaded per the corresponding Merlin files ... any other...
The comment from RMerlin relates to adding the RT-AX88U PRO officially to the supported HW inventory - as far as I know there is yet only 1 HW revision/version.
I do not need a manual nor the satisfaction to be able to register the router - it was just about product maturity as the whole package feels a bit incomplete or maybe rushed with the go-to-market- have not experienced this with my previous Asus products - especially at this pricepoint.
Just upgraded my RT-AX88u to an RT-AX88u Pro - oddly enough there seem to be no manuals avail at this point in time, also when trying to register the product with Asus the system tells me that the router has ran out of warranty - very strange and odd customer experience yet, support ticket is...
Just ugraded from an RT-AX88u running Beta 2 to an RT-AX88u Pro with Beta 2 and what should I say - runing like a charm - I am tempted to say: FLAWLESS!! :-) Will do further testing over the coming weekend with the new HW ...
Since being on 386.1 on my AX88 after nukclear reset, manual config and no addons I found out today, that the 5Ghz band behaves a bit odd. Leaving it on Auto with 160Mhz enabled channel36 is being picked but no signal. Tried to assign a manual channel, it shows the selected channel but still no...
Clearly looks like a B4 Problem - may need to upgrade to B4b first - alternatively try multiple attempts. Had to try 3 times in a row before I succeeded to get from B4 to B4b
On the 3rd attempt I was able to flash 384.19 over 386b4 - will stay on this version a bit as the AX88U is my main router. Will continue to monitor and take another upgrade attempt when getting closer to a final version. Thanks for all your hard work and support Merlin!
Really odd that you all encounter this issue - as stated above I do not see any change on the WAN Speed with Beta 4 on my AX88U V1.1 after upgrading from 386-stock FW.
