    replacement for E3000? RT-AC66U vs RT-AC68U

So if I'm understanding you correctly, the ac66 actually has worse range than the E3200? I guess that surprises me given the external vs internal antennas. If true that's good to know

    replacement for E3000? RT-AC66U vs RT-AC68U

Is the beam-forming only with the AC68U, or would a router like the N66U also have it? The N66U is a bit cheaper than the AC68U, and I don't have any other AC devices at the moment. Not sure if the AC68U is worth it if the N66U has enough range, etc.

    replacement for E3000? RT-AC66U vs RT-AC68U

Yup, if cabling was an option I would have already run it :) The chromecast is a wireless only device, unfortunately.

    replacement for E3000? RT-AC66U vs RT-AC68U

Thanks for the quick reply. Did you get a chance to compare the wireless range of the AC66U to the E3200 at all?

    replacement for E3000? RT-AC66U vs RT-AC68U

Hi All, I'm starting to look for a replacement for my E3000 router, and was hoping for some advice. First, an explanation of why I'm looking to replace it: I haven't really placed a great deal of emphasis on wireless performance in the past (almost all of my clients are wired with the...

    Looking for a Business NAS

I agree with HDClown, dual NICs should be sufficient. Just curious: How much data are you going to be using the NAS for? The theoretical maximum for a single gigabit link is 125 MB/sec, and for a single 10GbE link is 1250 MB/sec. Do you really need that level of throughput right now? Do you...

    Looking for a Business NAS

The only unit I am aware of that has that capability is the N7700Pro/N7700+ from Thecus.

Need help finding a dual band, low profile, wireless-N PCI adapter

I've heard good things about MoCA, but was put off by the price. Last time I checked the Netgear kit cost about $200.

Need help finding a dual band, low profile, wireless-N PCI adapter

Just wondering if there was any new cards of this type since this thread was started. I know this is an old thread, but always better to reply to existing threads than create new.

    DS411 vs readyNAS Ultra

Interesting. It was in stock yesterday on Amazon when I was checking prices. However you are correct, it is definitely out of stock everywhere now. Well, looks like I have some more time to make my decision :)

    Qnap 410 or Synology 410(j)

I've asked a similar question in another thread and gotten no response. I'm guessing the DS411+ will also be delayed. Just a guess though.

    DS411 vs readyNAS Ultra

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I'm currently leaning towards the DS411+ because of the D510 that it includes for almost the same price as the Ultra4. One remaining question I have is about how the DS411+ stacks up against the N4200 from Thecus (if this needs to be a question for a new...

    DS411 vs readyNAS Ultra

This may be a stupid question, but does ext4 improve NAS performance? I know it allows for larger volumes/file sizes, but was unaware of any performance improvements.
