Cell Phone Calls Using WiFi on an RT-AX86U Don't Go Through (Intermittently)

Time to knock with the neighbours then! (I have scant patience ;))

AI Mesh RT-AX86U with Zenwifi AX6600

Just to add I have no personal experience with AX58U and have heard experts here warn it is underpowered. Almost certainly another AX86U (or AX86S) would be better for extending range, as it has 4x4 streams at 5GHz (as opposed to 2 with the AX58U), which should help boost signal/transmission...

Cell Phone Calls Using WiFi on an RT-AX86U Don't Go Through (Intermittently)

No, my AX86U on same FW works fine for WiFi-Calling with iPhone8+ and iPhone 13, both on iOS 16.6. It may be an Android problem, so troubleshoot using any up-to-date iPhone?

AI Mesh RT-AX86U with Zenwifi AX6600

I have the same AImesh gear in operation, an AX86U as root for 2 XT8 nodes in star formation, stably running Merlin 3004.388.4 on former and 3004.388.2.2-gnuton1 on the latter. With Channel Select set to Auto the root broadcasts on Ch 100 (5GHz-2 wireless backhaul on the tri-band nodes), which...

    Diversion Diversion 4.3.3 - the Router Ad-Blocker, released April 02 2023

Hi, could someone pls explain, as for a total noob, how to install/activate AMTM & Diversion on an RTAX86U router? Cheers ...

Future predictions - which AX router will be supported longest?

Does it matter if they are Wifi5 or 6 clients?

Future predictions - which AX router will be supported longest?

Yeah, it's seems underpriced ... however ... RAM is still claimed at 1GB, same as AX86U, but indeed there was no mention of a 2.5Gbe port, which I suspect would feature high up the list if it were available. Perhaps they reckoned most people will not have better than 1Gbps FTTH in the next 10...

Future predictions - which AX router will be supported longest?

Would you say this range superiority is valid for the 5G band in particular? And is that in a relatively open environment, or with plenty of obstructions?

    Wifi 6 Router recommendation

After considerable research, RT-AX86U would be my recommend ... it has great range, ample grunt, is flexible with features and Merlin support & highly reliable at a decent price. It will max out a 1Gbps line and link aggregate for a potential NAS upgrade. Later in new house it can become the...

    ASUS AX68U 5GHz Band Dropping / Disappearing

I was thinking about a couple of AX68U for nodes in a (wireless backhaul) mesh with AX86U as the base ... but after perusing this thread am thinking they are best avoided altogether. Would the AX58U be the next best thing at a reasonable price? Or are they also likely to suffer this annoying...

Does Amazon have salt mines? Pls link, as I'm in the market for a modest one at reasonable money ... ;) (my side hustle is being the Admin for an Anarcho-Syndicalist Commune and we need somewhere to store recalcitrant members anyhow, but I suppose a boron mine would do at a pinch)

Future predictions - which AX router will be supported longest?

I presume it means compared to the AX86U, and also that there are in fact 4 antennae, with 3 external + 1 on PCB, as in the predecessor also.

Saw this news today: The ASUS RT-AX86U Pro gaming router has been announced and is already available for pre-order in China. The RT-AX86U Pro is equipped with a quad-core 16nm chip from Broadcom with an operating frequency of 2.0GHz. It has 1GB of memory and is equipped with a dedicated gaming...

    RT-Ac86U Mesh setup problems

Did you keep the 2.4GHz band activated in the nodes? It is needed to reestablish the wireless backhaul after a power cycle. Otherwise, once the AC86U nodes are recognised beside the AX88, test in increments of <=10m how far away you can power one up again and have it still achieve wireless...
