Recently bought a AC87U and sold my N66U. I noticed a problem with Guest Network MAC Filter. If MAC filtering is enabled for my private network it enables MAC filtering for my Guest network as well.
When I go to Guest network and disable MAC filtering, it doesn't stick and always goes back to...
sm00thpapa already answered my question.
I don't mean to be blunt but maybe you should read the OP next time, because you totally missed the point, twice.
I wasn't asking if 20MHz, 40MHz or 20/40MHz works better.
My question was about Extension Channel NOT Channel bandwidth.
That's the exact same issue I'm having and was wondering if it was a bug. Since it's not only me I guess it's normal.
I received the N66U a few days ago and just wanted to catch up on all the latest news and updates regarding this router.
Have you read the OP?
What's wrong with the 5GHz band? I'm new here, can someone fill me in?
My 5GHz is working wonderfully without issue, that is, as long as I'm within 30ft.
Now here's something interesting, lets say your Control Channel is set to 11. When you login to your router and change the number to, lets say 6. You're given the choice to choose upper or lower, BUT after you APPLY your settings it automagically switches to auto. Weird…
I'm on the latest firmware as well and all my devices connect to the router with no issues.
I have a custom HTPC in the living room connected via USB-N13 adapter.
I have 3 smartphones connected on the 5GHz band (Lumia 822, iPhone 5, Samsung G Note 2).
Girlfriend has a old MacBook connected on...
You're right, under IE (I'm on IE9) 165 shows up but using FF or Chrome it only goes up to 161. That is weird, I'm on fw 3.0.0.4.370 as well.
Can you check under Wireless > General > Extension Channel do you have a option to select upper or lower?
I purchased the ASUS WL-ANT157 and WL-ANT-191(2.4GHz) together with my RT-N66U. Noticed no significant difference over stock antennas.
I'm really curious under what conditions do these antennas show improvement.
I live in a apartment, no cement or steel beams in the walls. At ~50ft away one...
Can someone with RT-N66U post a screenshot of their General Wireless settings?
I tried them all, 20MHz, 40MHz, 20/40MHz, none allows me to select Extension Channel (Upper/Lower), Auto remains the only option.
Yes I'm sure because a bubble pops up showing percentage completion.
If I don't set it to 40MHz devices will not connect at 300Mbps but at 144Mbps instead.
I recently upgraded from a WRT54GL w/ DD-WRT.
I attached a picture and you'll see what I mean.
Using firmware 3.0.0.4.370_172
For 2.4GHz my settings are,
Wireless Mode - Auto
Channel bandwidth - 40MHz
Control Channel - 5
Extension Channel - Lower
But whenever I set my Extension Channel to lower or upper (and click Apply) it always reverts back to "Auto". Is there anyone else...
