I have the exact same problem.! Approx. a week ago my 2.4GHz started dropping clients and they can't reconnect. I have not done any changes or firmware upgrades and have no other 2.4GHz networks in my area. 5GHz works fine.

Intially, when I bought the RT-AC66U, 2.4G wireless was very unstable. However, after one of the later firmware updates, it actually became more or less stable and has been running OK for the past couple of months. Then, yesterday my 2.4G wireless suddenly stopped working (5G worked fine)...

Glad to see that I am not alone... Having google'd around. I can see that loads of people are having 2.4G problems regardless of the firmware version. This just isn't good enough on a top-of-the-pops router :mad:

Sorry to say, but I will have to dig out my old Netgear router until ASUS gets the 2.4G stable. Really hate to do this as the router is really good, but this 2.4G instability is driving me mad...:(

Should mention that 5G is working very stable. It is only 2.4G that causes problems. Guess I will go back to previous version, or maybe back to my old Netgear router that at least were stable....

No neighbours within reach of a wireless network. I have also tried other channels and even setting it back to auto. Same result :-(

Did you re-use the SSID's from the WDNR3700 when you changed to the ASUS? If so, delete the current SSID's and set up new ones in the ASUS (ie give them another name) and also assign new encryption keys. I had a similar problem when changing from a WDNR3700 to the ASUS. As strange as it...

Thank you for your reply. I have tried all of the above, unfortunately without any improvement :( I already used inSSID and there are absolutely no other networks within range (which would have surprised me, considering the distance to my neighbours).
