FWIW I exchanged the v1 unit for a v1.1 unit due to loss of internet connectivity on both wired and wireless connections every 12 hours. So the v1.1 unit exhibits the same behavior. This was with updated firmware and multiple resets. I gave up and returned it. Now using Orbi with no problems.
That might be it. Mine is the original version. Time to exchange, but stupidly they said they don't put the version number on the box, only the device!
Can you tell me what version your router is? The version should be found right next to the model number on the sticker affixed to the bottom of the router. Thanks
Yes I use band steering with everything at defaults. The indicator remains on, its transmitting, but it loses connectivity with the internet.

Does anyone know if there is a way, after updating to version 1.3.0.26, to enable the advanced wireless display showing what's connected to the router and the satellite separately? The option is no longer found in the hidden screen.
Page63: Thanks I'll check these out!
pete y testing: thanks for the information and help as I'm actually trying to assess the minimum distance between router & sattelite
Thanks. I just tried a power cycle again and the result is the same. I wonder if reloading the firmware is worthwhile? Also perhaps you know, does the TX power auto adjust down if the units are too close and the RF is too strong? If not perhaps a "connection quality" screen indicating placement...
Question about my new Orbi - after the initial install and successful sync with satellite the led's on top of both units turned off. Then I did the firmware upgrade and all went as expected, but now led on router is off, led on sattelite remains on steady blue. It stays on and doesn't go off...
Get a Linksys RE-7000. It's an AC1900 MU-Mimo wireless extender. Setup is super simple, and it will automatically default to the SSID of your network-EXT. It has some cool features as well such as Crossband, where it will use 5 ghz for downloads and 2.4 for uploads automatically, or you can...
All true and valid comments. I really like the Apple product, just disappointed that there have been no updates to the hardware in so long. I did find however that wireless printing and scanning was much slower on an Extreme (ac) than on an ASUS, LINKSYS, or TP-Link (ac) router.... That's really...
SFX, I'm surprised at your suggestion. I've lurked here for a while and I was shocked at that suggestion. Yes, I do agree Airports just work, I've had several, but I find the range on the extreme to be lacking in comparison to other units - however they are very reliable.
