AX92U - slow internet speedtest after upgrade to 3.0.0.4.386_41535-g1caa24a firmware

I haven't had any wan significant issues with 43084. I did have one reboot -- 3 weeks ago -- when the wan aggregation stopped working. Other than that one re-boot, everything has been working great.

AX92U - slow internet speedtest after upgrade to 3.0.0.4.386_41535-g1caa24a firmware

I'm a lazy. For incremental upgrades - with no prior issues, I usually go dirty. If something goes wrong, I will go clean. In this case, I haven't had any issues, yet. It's been 1 day 10 hours, since the upgrade. No unusual messages in the system log in either the router or AP. The last...

Keep an eye on the SNB Charts

Very nice. Thanks for the information. FYI one of your links is broken. https://www.smallnetbuilder.com/tools/charts/wifi-router/bar/248-6-ghz-profile-dn/44 At the top of this page, just below the SmallBuilder Net Logo, the Chart link gets an OOPS You Found Something Not Here message...

AX92U - slow internet speedtest after upgrade to 3.0.0.4.386_41535-g1caa24a firmware

I took the plunge and upgraded to 386.43804 yesterday. So far so good. Wired speed and wireless speeds are as expected. Wireless signal is stable in router and AP. The guest network on the AP Mode still doesn't isolate -- it would be nice if ASUS fixed this some day. (Guest mode works on...

    network upgrade

If you have WiFi6 clients, you can use WiFi6 on AX92u as either a standalone router, in AP mode or in AI Mesh mode. You have the option to set up the AX band (5ghz -2) as wireless backhaul -- or you can set it up so it will broadcast in WiFi 6 mode.

    network upgrade

I've had my AX92u for almost 2 years. Other than a bad firmware update last December, which now has been fixed, AX92u has been rock solid. Wired connection with 1 gbps service runs around 940mbps. Wireless connections on AX (WiFi 6) channel with AX clients run around 850-920 mbps (at the...

How to disable wifi 6 on AiMesh node?

Do you want to bind your Oculus to your AC router rather than the AX node? If so, you can click on the AiMesh menu. From that menu find the client you want to bind on the Client List (right side of screen). Click the Bind and then select the Router or Node. Then OK.

RT-AX92U on Shaw (Canada) Blue Curve Modem, unable to use bridge mode

If you asked Shaw about releasing the MAC address and if they already did that -- Here are some additional troubleshooting suggestions: Do you have the firewall set up on your XB6? If so, disable it. AI Protection? Turn it off for now. Parental Control? Turn it off for now. QOS on AX92u...

RT-AX92U on Shaw (Canada) Blue Curve Modem, unable to use bridge mode

Check that you're running the latest firmware on both your XB6 and your AX92u. If you are running the latest firmware, you may try contacting Shaw again. They may be able to troubleshoot it. There's a thread at Shaw about this issue. Solved: Bluecurve modem will not assign IP to any third...

RT-AX92U on Shaw (Canada) Blue Curve Modem, unable to use bridge mode

I'm still not clear what is working and what isn't. It sounds like you can connect a computer to the AX92u and it gets internet access. It also sounds like you can connect your Xbox and it gets internet access. It also sounds like these devices can access IPv6 but not IPv4 through AX92u. Is...

RT-AX92U on Shaw (Canada) Blue Curve Modem, unable to use bridge mode

I agree, the simple fix would be to try to clone the mac address of the router that's being replaced. Some ISPs provide limited MAC address. So when an additional router is added, it won't accept it.

RT-AX92U on Shaw (Canada) Blue Curve Modem, unable to use bridge mode

Can you share a screen shot of your WAN - Internet Connection tab from AX92u? Also on the Network Map tab - what does the "Internet Status:" state?

RT-AX92U on Shaw (Canada) Blue Curve Modem, unable to use bridge mode

So, just to make sure I'm clear - Set up 1 - Using DMZ on your XB6, you direct the inbound packets to the AX92u -- and you have internet access. Set up 2 - If you set up XB6 in bridge mode, you get no internet access on AX92u. However, in bridge mode, if you hook up a laptop to the second...

RT-AX92U on Shaw (Canada) Blue Curve Modem, unable to use bridge mode

Do you have the DMZ set up on your XB6 or your AX92u? Do you need to use DMZ? If you don't need to use DMZ, you can enable the bridge mode on XB6. Once you enable bridge mode, it will disable the router functions of the XB6. Once that's done, you should be able to set up the AX92u and it...

Why Should I Buy my ISP's Gateway?

I'd say wait at least 6 months and see what's new. WiFi6e routers are just starting to roll out. Since they are just starting to roll out, I'd expect that standard will be around for a few years. I also would expect many WiFi6e routers will be tri-band routers. But once WiFi 6e becomes...
