Thanks, the reality is I don't even want the thing to start. I don't want an audible alarm at all. This will be mounted on a top shelf which means it will be a total 'pain in the a**' to have to get on a small ladder to press a button. Don't want any alarm full stop. thanks.
Yes, this adds up to me. Sadly, muting the beeps should be as simple as a physical button but seems need to check to see if it can be done by software application... why one should repeat when on battery power is beyond any purpose other than annoying. Like isn't that why people buy these things?
To calculate the backup time for my 12W router using a 1200 VA (720 W) UPS, I can use the following formula:
Backup Time (hours)=UPS Capacity (Wh)Load (W) /Load (W)
Convert UPS VA to Wh: Since the UPS is rated at 1200 VA, and assuming a power factor of 0.6 (typical for UPS systems), the...
Relax. It's all good and yes all safety requirements are in hand, well and truly. We mostly play during the day, so interruption to lights, air con., fans and even the hws in the kitchen won't be a concern. No we don't have regular or intermittent power issues or internet issues. The internet...
If these Power Backup units can only supply backup power for minutes then they won't accomplish what I need. Seems it would be extremely expensive but I think a router using only 13-20watts of power (not 100watts) could go for 3-4 hrs. Specs are pretty ordinary and only specify the units lasting...
you need power backup and not uninterrupted power supply..... I know that, I know they are different devices, I know some do both depending on what power point you use on the device. OK so it's not going to power a router,pc and monitor..... but power drain of just a router will be nowhere near...
Yes, thought this would be an issue but even getting to talk to a techie who knows what they're talking about is a feat in itself, so I was more likely to go with one or the other rather than both and I'm thinking the...
Amazing how many of these ups devices are on Marketplace (Facebook), most with 'you need to replace batteries'. I'll probably be able to pick one up cheap and still have money leftover for a box of stubbies.
The RT-AC88U is what we are currently using but I think we'll go over to the Telstra Router (which will be better for an internet outage). Telstra also sell a lithium ups:

They don't say how long...
Trying to find the answer is like pick a box. On other forums here it says 30w at normal load, google says between 14-21w. I have also read only 5w so who knows? (Referring to ASUS RT-AC88U).
While I was interested in knowing how long one of these micht power a pc, monitor and router I simply need a unit that will power a 'router only' for 3-4 hours. This is for a Bridge Club. The game is scored with devices called Bridgemates and each table of 4 players has one Bridgemate, when...
Thanks Colin, to me this pretty much means these devices are a waste of space and money, not even devised to do the job they purport to do, are a total nuisance with the ongoing beeping crap and seemingly not worth the effort. Seems like none of them are built for purpose just for bells and...
I think I have found what I am looking for in Australia. Here is the link and I was looking at buying the 1200VA/650W model. https://treske.com.au/products/apc-by-schneider-electric-back-ups-line-interactive-ups-1-20-kva-650-w?variant=48043397808436
I need to check and make sure there's is no...
