    I figured it out. Just had to merge this into config_base.6a. Sound output works fine with a cheap Syba USB sound adapter. Unfortunately MPD stutters ~10s into any song I play, even on a local file. Madplay works fine. So I'm still on the hunt for a DLNA renderer that will work...

    Does the stock firmware work? I'm having problems with IPv6 stopping working after ~15 minutes ("ping -6 www.google.com" from the router times out).     Ridiculous AC87U and STB problem

    Does the STB keep persistent logs across resets? You could boot it up with it connected to the AC87, wait for it to hang, connect the old router, reset the STB, and then SSH into it to check the logs to see why it hung.
