    guys is it possible for 1 pc to have a wireless connection to one network and lan connection to to another network. reason i ask is my wife works from home and relies on a stable connection and from time to time it fails causing my wife to jump to the laptop and connect to the neighbours...

    see how fast the transfer is copying data from the external usb hard disk to the machine :D you may find ya bottleneck is usb, on wireless N i get about 15 tops

    check out the readynas ultra range just released :D I have also looked at the idea of running WHS but my main concern is power consumpsion as i want it running 24/7. i did think of running WHS on an atom 330 based board but i and hearing that the CPU is just not up it

    there is the Linksys SLM2008 which is rear patched but by what i have read it runs fairly warm :p

    the switch is front patched fella :D one thing to consider building the NAS is power usage that was my main concern anyway and these off the shelf system seem to take that into account. if the sky is the limit on your budget the the linn box is a pretty bit of kit but i think your not...
