no you have wire mapped them..
as Tim said above to "verfie" the cables it uses propper tests to ensure the twist rates are all kept, wire lengths are close if not the same
not really unless it does QOS and you want your pc tpo have priority over the conenction above other users... tho I have a QOS modem router and have never had to worry about this..
cool artical thiggins. I organise the Power gear for a couple of big events here in Aus.

RJ-45 is the generic term used for both the 8P8C (8Pins, 8Connected)* sockets and plugs used in networking, Cat5e is the type of cabling used, it is the enhanced version of Cat5... also alot of people shorten Cat5e to cat5 where there is a clear differnce to each cable type.

bare minimum for bedroom cabling is 2 sockets per room maximum of 4, for a Home office minimum is 6 and a maximum of 16, 2 walls with 4 and one wall with 8 sockets on them, behind any Main tv/ HT set up I would go at minimum 4 at most 8. but hey that is just me.
as for switches... D-link

also to the op 24 ports for most vendors is the smallest they would...
yes you are being naive to think that you will get file transfer speeds that fast from "domestic" gear, Jumbo frames is a comercial/ dc concept for when you are truely transfering alot fo data around on a dayily/ hourly basis...
bt you still dont see the whole picture you may have lots of ram...
with your new updated transfer speed that is about right for that set up.... Gbit is the network connection speed which gives you enough "bandwidth" to do thse kinds of speeds... it has always been fact tht you will never get full Gb speeds unles you are on Fibre or have 15K rpm hd/ ssd's. even...
