creating a second SSID - possible?

I am aware. I was being flippant. The point is the issue resolved itself and the previously stated 'wall charger doesn't like mesh networks' seems to be overstated at best and more likely simply untrue.

creating a second SSID - possible?

Looks like the wall charger got over its dislike of mesh networks all by itself. Firmware auto-updated last night

thanks will look at that as well

I went into the GUI and I see what you mean. Thanks so much!

creating a second SSID - possible?

Thanks, so I create a guest network with its own SSID. That seems straightforward enough. But how do I stop it from being propagated throughout the mesh? Apologies for the n00b questions. It's just not something I have done before and I don't want to mess up an otherwise well-working home network.

creating a second SSID - possible?

I wasn't clear. The Tesla has no issues connecting to the existing mesh. The Tesla Wall Charger however, does not 'like' mesh networks and hasn't downloaded any firmware updates etc. So the question is: can I create a second SSID on the router only, for the wall charger to connect to, albeit...

creating a second SSID - possible?

thanks for that swift reply. This is where we rapidly approach the limits of my networking knowledge. How do I set up a guest network and ensure it is not propagated to the nodes but only broadcasting from the router (assuming that is what the wallcharger needs)?

creating a second SSID - possible?

I have 4 XT8 set up around the house. The router and 2 nodes are connected via ethernet, the 4th XT8 is set up as a node in the garage. Everything is stable (knock on wood). My question: My Tesla wall charger needs to connect to the Wifi in order to get updates etc. It does not like mesh...

Zenwifi XD6S won't connect to XT8 Mesh (red led flashing within minutes of connecting)

Indeed, that was me as well. Since returned the XD6S and installed an additional XT8 which works fine, now I also switched the backhaul on the other 3 XT8 from ethernet to auto...

adding XT8 as wireless node to a ethernet backhaul mesh?

I have approx 3000 sq ft over 3 floors, but European construction (all brick and concrete). I now have the main router in the entrance hallway / main stairwell, with an AX node in the kitchen, an AX node in the master bedroom (one floor up) and an AX node in the home office (second floor up)...

adding XT8 as wireless node to a ethernet backhaul mesh?

Thank you, I was able to point the new AX to the main router in the hallway. The RP now points automatically to the AX in the kitchen.

adding XT8 as wireless node to a ethernet backhaul mesh?

As a follow-up question: Based on my Mesh lay-out graph, the RP-AC55 garage is connecting to the XT8 mesh node on the second floor (see pic). If that is a true representation, is there a way for me to point the RP-AC55 to the router/base station at the top of the diagram, which is closest to it?

adding XT8 as wireless node to a ethernet backhaul mesh?

Thank you for your input, but it leaves me a bit confused. can the backhaul preference be set at the individual node level? How/where do I ensure no wired node shows up with an active wireless backhaul?
