I'm currently using Linux/mdadm/samba. I currently put the system to sleep if no activity on the raid disks. Except between 1700 thru 2300. I'll have to look into scripts to put the system into a low power mode.

I have a Linux system with two raid5 sets. I'm thinking about buying a 4 disk nas. Not sure which vendor to get. I would prefer a NAS that runs x64 code. This way I don't have to create an environment to build arm code. But then I thought why not just keep my desktop linux system and make...
