    Just a quick point - according to what I've read, ZFS would actually be more recoverable than a typical RAID 5 array of other filesystems.     Thanks for the reply, I've actually come to that conclusion myself. I can build a NAS for myself, with ZFS, thats faster than the 5500 and it'd be 30-40% cheaper. So thats the option I'll be going for. I'll be researching parts now :)
