That's an incredibly dismissive attitude towards those of us who bought the router in part due to the link aggregation support. Do you really think it's OK to advertise a feature which doesn't actually work properly? I sure don't.

Yes, and that's my use case. I have a proxmox server with dual port Intel i350 NIC, which supports 802.3ad. I have several client machines communicating with VMs on this host, and the 1gb/s limit is irksome. Since 2.5/5/10gb home routers are not yet available at a price I'm willing to pay...

Hm, were you able to confirm/measure 802.3ad functionality? It's non-functional on my unit.

Whoa, you're showing USB write speeds wayyyy faster than I'm seeing. I've only gotten 15MB/s max. How did you test those? edit: Wait, on the summary page it says Mb/s but the USB results pages say MB/s.. Which is it? :)

Fair enough. Personally, I don't care what his motivations are, I just think the review was downright bad. He gave it the kind of once-over you might expect for a $30 Staples router, not a top-end premium router.

I doubt he got paid by Asus, I think it's more a case of "I know I'll get a free $400 router if I write a minimal-effort review, so why not?"

That's good to know. Still only seeing 13-15MB/s when doing samba transfers to the drive. I'll test link agg later.

I'm testing link aggregation and USB transfer rates now, will update when done. Backing up my freenas stuff to an external drive shared via the router (samba) has only been able to achieve 15MB/s prior to today, and link aggregation showed no slave interfaces in the router ssh interface, even...

Finally got mine to update by manually downloading the file. The CNET review was a joke. They did perfunctory wireless speed tests, and didn't test any of the major 'features' of this router, like link aggregation (broken) and USB transfers (uselessly slow speeds and very high router memory...

Mine is failing to update. It gets to about 70%, then the progress bar disappears and it switches to the GameDashboard.asp page. Not surprised at this point. I'm shopping for a new router, hopefully one with working 802.3ad, 8 ports, and good VPN performance.

I have similar issue with mine; plugged in 8TB external drive, memory use goes almost to max, and I only see 15MB/s transfer to that drive from a GBE source. Link aggregation still not working either.
