Thanks for this, I did not follow your step 5 correctly but I did try the WPS method as well. Once I discovered the port 1 business the normal reset button for 10 seconds worked fine.
To answer your comment, i found that I was not resetting long enough so you may be right that after the first config it may well be any port; but definitely port 1 got the mesh started !!
The first 1GB port , I had a NAS using PORT 1 and PORT 2 bound so it never occurred to me to unplug it. But when I replaced the router (out of ideas at this point) I plugged it into the first 1Gb port and it found it straight away. I proved it with another node and then went back to port 1 for...
This may sound silly but after the disaster of installing 386.7 (I emphasize it is a GPL issue) and losing attached nodes I went back to scratch to rebuild the mesh. I could not get the gt-ax6000 routers (I have 5) to be recognised until I plugged it into the first ethernet port of the router ...
I opened an issue with ASUS (N2206040786-0001), I am hopeful they can easily replicate with their latest stock firmware or the GPL included in Merlin 386.7. For the time being 386.6 is rock solid on my config.
Yes I agree, as a stand alone router or with aimesh nodes directly attached it is all good. Had it running like that (router + 2 nodes) for an hour or so until I added a node off a node and it all crashed. That was with 386.7 and the latest available build from Asus. Too spooked to go forward...
I had to back out and moved to Merlin 386.6 where my 5 X GT-AX6000 mesh is rock solid.
In my case the GT-AX6000 3 nodes that were daisy chained off each other dropped out (and disappeared from Mesh) when all AX6000's were at this level. The node that was directly connected to the router without...
I flashed 386.7 onto my GT-AX6000 mesh which comprises 5 x AX6000 units ; 2 nodes ethernet attached to the Router and 2 nodes ethernet daisy chained off one of the said nodes. Under Merlin 386.6 the setup works fine but under 386.7 when you complete the firmware upgrade of all 5 routers the 3...
