    NIC Stuck at 10 Mbps

I ended up just buying an Intel Gigabit NIC. I think the onboard NIC is just malfunctioning.

    NIC Stuck at 10 Mbps

My NIC will not budge from 10 Mbps when it should be 1 Gbps (ASUS P7P55D Motherboard). I've tried everything I know of. Here's a short list... Updated NIC drivers to the latest Uninstalled and reinstalled NIC drivers in safe mode Changed the ethernet cable (CAT 5e and CAT 6) Tried multiple...

    Streaming over Wireless

I think I'll go that route, leave laptops for wireless. Thanks for the help :)

    Streaming over Wireless

would something like this work http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833122111 ? Does it matter what computers I stick on the switch? Like would I see worse performance if the server + computer were both on the switch?

    Streaming over Wireless

    Streaming over Wireless

I was using the resource monitor in the task manager. It would stay at 0 for maybe 5-10 seconds then play normally again, then stutter, etc. I found out that the QoS Engine on my router might be causing it, so I turned that off and it works fine now. But there's still one problem I seem to...

    Streaming over Wireless

I currently have a file server on my network that holds all my movies and video. It's connected to my DIR-655 router. I have a computer upstairs and a laptop, one is on wireless-G and the laptop is on wireless-N. My problem is is that when playing video through Windows Media Center it becomes...

    Mapping My Documents

I have a file server set up running Windows Vista Ultimate and several other computers running Vista also. I'd like to make it so that all the computers users My Documents and Desktop, My Pictures, and everything are all located on the file server so they have a common folder. Thank you :)

    Streamlining FTP + NAS

I figured that I would need a script to do so. My NAS is just a PC I set up on my home network running Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit. The problem with that is I still want to keep the files on the server for seeding purposes (torrents). So I need to send them to my NAS, then unRAR them and...

    Streamlining FTP + NAS

Ok here's my current set up: I currently download videos onto a server that I purchased. From that server I then use CuteFTP to transfer them to my NAS, from which I un-rar them with WinRAR into specific folders corresponding to their file name. Then I delete the RAR file. Then I go to my PS3...

    GPT and RAID 0

Ah, I completely forgot about that. It never really occured to me since it's ussually a small difference (like 1 GB) on smaller drives. But you really noticed the difference on 2 TB :). Thanks.

    GPT and RAID 0

Nevermind, after deleting the partition I was able to convert the second disk to GPT. However it says that I have only 2056 GB of free space... when it should be 2250 GB - 40 GB. Am I missing something else?

    GPT and RAID 0

So I have 3x 750 GB drives in RAID 0. I split up the drives in the RAID tool in BIOS to have one LUN have 40 GB spanned over the 3 drives and the rest on the second LUN. I installed Windows Vista 32-bit (since I was unable to get 64-bit installed) I then have to format and allocate the larger...

    My first NAS

I was going to buy the HighPoint RocketRAID 3120 as it is a Hardware RAID controller with a moderate price tag. But then I stumbled upon this article which shows the onboard RAID controller on the Intel ICH10R chipset actually out performs the HighPoint RocketRAID 3120 on all levels. So I've...

    My first NAS

Also, are all these RAID controllers as bad as they sound for compatibility? I haven't found a single RAID controller that says it supports ASUS P5B motherboard and all I hear about is compatibility issues.
