USB to 2.5Gbe adapter on AX88U

Makes sense. I've tried three different adapters with two different chipsets and the results are consistent. My speeds are cut in half with all of them.

USB to 2.5Gbe adapter on AX88U

Please let us know which one that you get and how it worked if you can - thanks! It's frustrating to see over 1.4 GB coming into the router but I can't get that to my PC due to this limitation. But, at the prices of managed switches, I don't think it is worth it.

USB to 2.5Gbe adapter on AX88U

I tried the Sabren NT-SS5G and hoped that the different chipset would make a difference. It didn't - still a 50% reduction with the 86U. I think that I'll just forget trying to use the adaptors and be happy with the 900 to 960 that I get without them.

USB to 2.5Gbe adapter on AX88U

Yes, two 2.5 GB ports by design, and I hope this is in the next generation of routers. So, the Sabrent SS5G does the job better than the ones with the Realtek 8156B chipset? Is that the bottom line here?

USB to 2.5Gbe adapter on AX88U

Thanks for the information. I sent back the Plugable (maybe too soon) and will try the USB-C2500. I'm going to keep trying!

USB to 2.5Gbe adapter on AX88U

I tried this with a Plugable 2.5 GB Adapter with the 8156B chipset on the RT-AX86U with the MB8611 and, while all the hardware (and the ASUS app) showed a 2.5 GB connection, the actual speed was cut in half from about 950 to around 400 or so. I read somewhere that the issue may be the processor...

Added 2.5gb WAN port to AX86U loaded with RMerlin’s FW

I'm using a Motorola MB8611 into an ASUS RT-AX86U. Since the router only has one 2.5 GB port, I used that as the LAN port and bought the Plugable 2.5GB USB to use as the WAN port. But, while everything looked fine on the router, the PC, and the modem, the speeds were only about 50% of what I was...
