    Qualcomm StreamBoost

Wondering what kinds of experiences folks have had with the Qualcomm StreamBoost QOS built into some of the QCA-based Netgear routers. Looking around the web, it looks like QCA introduced StreamBoost back in 2013. It got lots of press then, but there's really nothing very current to be found in...

    Synology RT2600ac Router Reviewed

Both Netgear and Synology apparently agree with you, as each, in their marketing materials for the R7800 and the RT2600AC, respectively, refers to the IPQ8065 as "dual core." http://netgear.com/home/products/networking/wifi-routers/R7800.aspx?cid=wmt_netgear_organic#tab-techspecs...

    Synology RT2600ac Router Reviewed

From the review: "The RT2600ac's back end is elevated by two legs molded into its bottom cover. Although there are wall-mount screw slots also molded into the bottom, you won't be able to actually wall mount it without sawing off the plastic legs." I had read something similar in another review...

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.65 Beta is now available

With my AC-3100, Beta 4 fixes (a) the disappearing printers and (b) the inability to get an IPv6 address, both of which are in the current official firmware. Grateful, as always, to RMerlin for tracking these down and fixing them, but increasingly frustrated with Asus for letting these things...

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.65 Beta is now available

Makes sense, as these three models share the same Broadcom CPU and Wi-Fi SoC chips......

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.65 Beta is now available

This problem with disappearing printers and the fluctuating client list seems to be model-specific. As I said in my earlier post, I'm seeing this on an RT-AC3100 with official 380_4180 or the Merlin 380.65 betas. But NO issues with those same firmware versions on an RT-AC66U. I see from their...

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.65 Beta is now available

With an RT-AC3100, I am having the same problem reported by effortless, kibosh, and bradbort, with a wireless printer/scanner disappearing. It comes and goes apparently randomly. When it's gone, I can't see it from any device, whether Windows, Mac, or iOS (it's AirPrint-compatible). When it...

Insufficient range/coverage for AC68, thinking of upgrading to AC88

I've used the RT-AC68U and the RT-AC3100 (same as RT-AC88U except for 4 vs. 8 LAN ports) in the same spot in my house. I have noticed no discernible difference in range whatsoever. Maybe you're a candidate for the Netgear Orbi or Linksys Velop........

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.65 Beta is now available

I'm finally getting an IPv6 address again on my RT-AC3100 on Comcast. It had been broken for a long time........thanks for the fix!

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.62_1 is now available

I see that too, both on an RT-AC3100 at home and an RT-AC66R at my office. And the box title reads, "Static Route (Optional)."

have any body heard of this model. Asus RT-AC68A

It does appear that ASUS will be selling the RT-AC1900P here: https://apps.fcc.gov/eas/GetApplicationAttachment.html?id=2946225 EDIT: The link apparently doesn't work. I'll try uploading the doc.

[Article] - MU-MIMO Retest: Six Routers Compared

I just meant a step backward in the sense that the C2600 has already-working (albeit poorly, according to your testing) MU-MIMO and the C3150 has only the promise of MU-MIMO working in the future. But I guess the lure of "3150" vs. "2600" may be enough to get people to spend more money to buy...

[Article] - MU-MIMO Retest: Six Routers Compared

Right, but according to your tests, the C2600 doesn't really have working MU-MIMO either! But since they claim it does, it seems like the newer C3150 is a step backward, except for the claimed higher speeds from NitroQAM that aren't really achievable given the lack of clients. It just seems...

[Article] - MU-MIMO Retest: Six Routers Compared

I see that TP-Link is now selling a Broadcom-based 4x4 router, the C3150, that had been introduced at CES: http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details/Archer-C3150.html http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AK9TC0Y/?tag=snbforums-20 Odd that they're selling the comparable QCA and Broadcom platforms side...

[Article] - MU-MIMO Retest: Six Routers Compared

Doesn't QCA provide reference drivers? I would think so, and so I'd think that all the router manufacturers would use them and that there would thus be much more similar performance among the various products, considering that they're using very similar, and in some cases identical, QCA radios...
