Having trouble with dual wan on RT-AX89X & Netgear CM2000, only works if you unplug the ethernet

Any update on this from Asus support? I have tried and failed to get my AC-3100 dual-WAN working well. I think it's a general issue with Asus routers, and I'm at the point where I may have to replace it with an actual multi-WAN router.

    amtm amtm step-by-step install guide - L&LD

Thanks. I figured it was for security, but since the reason wasn't explained anywhere in this thread I was concerned that there may have been a conflict with some of the scripts if I left it on the default port. I'll keep mine on 22... it's open only to my internal network so what can possibly...

    amtm amtm step-by-step install guide - L&LD

I'm planning to set up AMTM following these directions, but I like to know why I'm doing something before I do it. Step 5 says: Change SSH Port to '51111'. ... We want to use a different 'default' than Port '22' Why are we changing the port for SSH?

Dual wan anyone get it working with Reliability ?

I'm testing a cheap and easy way to get dual WAN without using the Asus implementation. Here's my new setup using the latest version of FreshTomato on an old router; does anyone see anything in my setup that could cause issues? Cable modem (bridge mode) -> Tomato router (wan1) DSL modem...

Dual wan anyone get it working with Reliability ?

I looked for the Synology RT2600ac but they are all either unavailable, significantly overpriced, or not available to ship to Canada. I see that Tomato does multi wan so I'm going to experiment with it on my n66u in between my modems and ac3100. I haven't played with Tomato for years so it...

Dual wan anyone get it working with Reliability ?

Reviving a slightly old thread... I'm sad to see that I'm not the only person disappointed with the dual wan feature. With everyone in my house working from home these days I decided to get some internet insurance by supplementing my cable with dsl. Tried to use the dual wan feature on my...

    Happy birthday to us

Hey RMerlin, seems like I have been down a similar road as you. Started with Atari VCS, moved to VIC20 and C64 programming in high school, then onto C128 and Amiga. I also had a WDTV and faithfully used the WDLXTV firmware up until I replaced the device with an Android box a few years ago, and...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

I second this. I have an RT-68U that was showing intermittent problems with wifi dropouts and occasional freezing. Tried all troubleshooting steps with no success. Replacing the power supply solved all the issues with that router. Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk

FYI found and replaced some cat5 patch cables as well. Don't know how they snuck in there.

Need help with intermittent high pings to ASUS router

The powerline adapter had been running fairly well for several years to my son's bedroom until I ran ethernet to his room, and it ran well with the router until a couple of weeks ago. I am guessing that either the adapter has gone bad or my power lines have more interference now. Right now I...

Need help with intermittent high pings to ASUS router

I connected everything back up except my powerline network adapter and the wifi and had no latency issues. I then switched the wifi over from the N66U to the AC3100 and still no issues. When I connected up my powerline adapter the latency issues returned within minutes... unplugging it returns...

Need help with intermittent high pings to ASUS router

That was an interesting article. I switched to fq_codel, but I'm not sure what to set the bandwidth to... I'm paying for 150/15 but I consistently get 200/17 so I set bandwidth to 180/15 based on my actuals.

Need help with intermittent high pings to ASUS router

I had the QOS turned on with the settings at: QOS Type: Adaptive QOS Bandwidth Setting: Automatic Queue Discipline: sfc Mode: Gaming I have been slowing adding devices back onto my AC3100 and the high latency has not returned. I have started with the wired devices - I have a couple of...

Need help with intermittent high pings to ASUS router

So I hooked directly up to the cable modem and didn't see any lag. I then reinstalled my AC3100 to run parallel to the N66U. I disabled wireless in the AC3100 to avoid conflicts. I hooked my gaming computer via the network switch to the AC3100 and left the rest of my network on the N66U. So far...
