Solved WireGuard VPN issues on Asus Router

Hi all, So, I am running a wireguard vpn on an asus router. Windows11 as a client. However, my IP mapped SMB folder will not connect. Nor can I ping the 192.168.1.22 IP address. However, when entering that IP in chrome I can see the self hosted software I run on it. I did a traceroute, and...

    Replacement for AC-87U

You are probably right. I am a sucker for new stuff but in the end I only 2 WiFi7 capable devices. Was more thinking future proofing but I know that's a dangerous path. I'll just focus on a good WiFi6 router with 2.5GBPs ports. I do really like to try ubiquity but compared to a single Asus...

    Replacement for AC-87U

Would you say it's wise to let the WifI7 and 6Ghz wish go? The ASUS RT-BE92U is quite discounted but when I read its forum post I saw that some say the 2x2 is a concern, when others say it is totally not. Plus some broadcom dude fighting. I enjoy the stability and speed (still pushing...

    Replacement for AC-87U

Hmm good point, wasn't aware it was this big of an issue. What would you say is a proper alternative?

    Replacement for AC-87U

Well sortof, it's a bit more nuanced especially since my choice is a bit more limited here. I have definitely looked around but don't see a similar enough thread.

    Replacement for AC-87U

Hi all, After a decade of extremely good and reliable service, I believe the time has slowly come to upgrade the router. Whilst from an environmental PoV I don't want to given the fact it still works flawlessly and is speedy enough (600mpbs over 5Ghz), the lack of recent updates is the main...

    Beta [Fork] 384.13 builds

Would you recommend doing the same? I do have 2 6E clients but you might be right that might not be worth it.

    Beta [Fork] 384.13 builds

To be honest I wanted Wifi 6E but options seem kinda limited. Maybe better to go AX86U route

    Beta [Fork] 384.13 builds

I am looking for a replacement, but finding it a bit hard to find something truly compelling. This firmware would just be temporary untill I find a replacement (probably around black Friday)

    Beta [Fork] 384.13 builds

In terms of security, would it be advisable to go with latest stock or does this fork have the same patches?

Will Merlin for the RT-AC87U get the vulnerability patch published by Asus?

Hi all, I really want to switch to Merlin to gain DNS over TLS but I see that the newest version is older than the newest Asus official firmware wich had some vulnerabilities patched. Will these ever come to Merlin or is it safer to stay on the stock firmware? Thanks!
