OpenVPN client can't connect to local resources over port 80/443, but can ping them by IP

I don't think so - for instance, one of the devices I am trying to access is my Asus device itself, and also a Hubitat that does not have local-vs-wan firewall restrictions in place.

OpenVPN client can't connect to local resources over port 80/443, but can ping them by IP

I am trying to connect via Internet - not a bad question at all... :)

OpenVPN client can't connect to local resources over port 80/443, but can ping them by IP

Just set up OpenVPN Server on Merlin v 3004.388.8_4, and it seems to be starting/running OK. I connected a client to it using the OpenVPN app (tried this on both iOS and Windows 11), and it connects and I get an IP address in the 10.8.0.x range. However I am unable to access LAN resources via...

VPN Client and Server using Trust.Zone public IP and port forwarding

Colin: You = Da Man! Thank you for catching the port ranges for the Trust Zone forwarding - I had known that in the past, but totally forgot about it. I changed to a port higher than 5000, and it works great! True - I edited the nat-start file when SSH'd into the router. It's in the...

VPN Client and Server using Trust.Zone public IP and port forwarding

My Scenario: Currently I have T-Mobile broadband, using Carrier Grade NAT (CGNAT), which does not give me any port forwarding options. Behind this, I have an ASUS router running the latest Merlin software. I need port forwarding for remote access to my servers, so I purchased a service from...

    Configuring Chk-WAN

Awesome - thank you for the reply - I configged it as per the posts, and I better understand the “status” function now. :)

    Configuring Chk-WAN

I'm trying to set up @Martineau Chk-WAN script on my Asus Merlin router. I followed the install instructions, and all seemed to go as planned. My challenge is that I don't think it is actually running correctly. I thought by typing "./ChkWAN.sh cron" that it would install it into crontab...

monitor internet connection and reboot router on loss?

I have an AC-68u running current Merlin FW. I re-boot the router at 3:00 AM every morning (stuff just seems to run better that way). Recently, the router gets in some sort of hung stage, and I have to physically power-cycle it when I get up in the AM. I was wondering if there is a way / tool...

Thank you - I am going to switch it out & see how it goes! :) I appreciate the insights!

Difference in RT-AC68u and RT-AC1900 CPU - which one for primary?

Hi, @Tech9 - thank you for the reply - the UI "snappiness" isn't super important to me, as I am not it it much :), but are you saying the packet throughput is that much faster, or in what way is it noticeable?

Difference in RT-AC68u and RT-AC1900 CPU - which one for primary?

that's an interesting point on the VPN performance. I use Trust.Zone VPN on the router for just one computer, and it's set up via the RT-AC68u. I do get better performance than what you are describing (based on torrent speeds - they do something funny to speedtest.net, so it doesn't work...

Difference in RT-AC68u and RT-AC1900 CPU - which one for primary?

I have both an ASUS RT-AC68u and an RT-AC1900 (running current Merlin FW) - today I noticed that the CPU in the 1900 is running a higher mhz (1400 -vs- 800 on the AC68u). I have my 68u set up as the main wireless router, while the AC-1900 is set up as an Access Point (AP). My question is...

    logging URLs to separate server?

thanks, @Martineau - QQ for you - wouldn't this possibly lose some of the data (depending on the frequency that I run it), or create multiple entries of the same URL if I run it too frequently?
