Why not Zoidberg? (new IPv6 test alpha builds)

I'm on Comcast cable. This seems to be a different issue. odhcp6c gets correctly restarted, it just doesn't pick up an address.

Why not Zoidberg? (new IPv6 test alpha builds)

Well, after 45 days I lost my IPv6 address. My modem lost connection to my ISP last night and when it was able to reestablish a connection, the router did not reaquire its IPv6 address. Disabling then re-enabling IPv6 from the web interface does not work to restore it. Neither does restarting...

Why not Zoidberg? (new IPv6 test alpha builds)

Yes, the alpha build is what I'm interested in. I'm not sure if the log will help much. I think by default odhcp6c just fails silently, but there are debugging options to enable if there is nothing useful in it.

Why not Zoidberg? (new IPv6 test alpha builds)

Could you post your system log? Also, just to make sure, DHCP-PD is enabled on the router?

Why not Zoidberg? (new IPv6 test alpha builds)

Yeah, I was just letting you know that it should be a lot better, since I've been running the new code longer than anyone outside Asus.

Why not Zoidberg? (new IPv6 test alpha builds)

My current uptime is around 40 days without a loss. I think the build i had prior to that was 20-30 days. Previously it would lose IPv6 after about 4-7 days for me.

Why not Zoidberg? (new IPv6 test alpha builds)

This is normal for stateless IPv6. What is happening is, the device is sending out a dhcp request for an IPv6 address (DHCPSOLICIT). Because you are using stateless auto configuration, dnsmasq doesn't have any addresses to give out, so it informs the device no addresses are available...

Why not Zoidberg? (new IPv6 test alpha builds)

For those of you interested in testing this, I have been running personal test builds for a couple months, ever since Asus added it. I had actually started work on integrating odhcp6c, but Asus beat me to it. If you are on Comcast or another ISP that provides native IPv6 with DHCP-PD, this...

Error building from GIT source. Ubuntu 12.04 x64

I'm waiting until after the 374.40 final release. So there are fewer possible blockers to getting the security fixes out.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 374.39 is out

Yeah, I guess there was no official build of this available, just one used for testing. I'm not 100% sure this will fix your issue either, but it was one of the messages mentioned by the person who submitted the patch.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 374.39 is out

This should be fixed in 374.40 alpha8, if you're willing to try it.

    problem using static ipv6 config

This should (hopefully) be fixed in Asus' 4561 firmware, which will be included in Merlin .40 once it is released.

Error building from GIT source. Ubuntu 12.04 x64

After installing everything on the list in the readme, here are the additional packages I needed to install. make intltool libglib2.0-dev libglib2.0-dev contains the Automake macros needed by Avahi.

Error building from GIT source. Ubuntu 12.04 x64

I was able to reproduce this on a 12.04 VM. I'll see what I can figure out.

Error building from GIT source. Ubuntu 12.04 x64

Every package I've been missing was on the list. Usually I just didn't feel like installing it until it was needed. Could you try building saintdev/asuswrt-merlin@build-fixes? I'm not sure this will fix your issue, but I think it might.
