Well I was able to downgrade my firmware but it took some time Googling on how to do so. I first came across this method for using SSH and SCP. I uploaded mtd-write and the firmware I wanted then typed in Putty: mtd-write2 firmware.trx linux
Then powered off and NVRAM reset.
Nothing installed. I literally restored it back to defaults (where it prompts you to use router as a router/AP/Media Bridge/etc) but it still does not take the flash. I also input that command prior to flashing but nothing.
Stupid question, how does one revert back to 384.4_2? I tried flashing using Chrome and IE but when it finishes, it shows up as the exact same firmware. I restored factory defaults, even tried putting it in restore mode but neither is applying the firmware.
I'm having a rather odd and annoying issue with my RT-AC68U. I have it running as Media Bridge with a couple of devices connected to it (AV receiver, Dell Optiplex). They both get internet and can access anything on my local LAN but I cannot for the life of me ping or access the webGUI using...
Stupid question, would this work if my router is in AP mode? I tried anyways and am getting the same issue some others had where it kept telling me "dnsmasq.conf was missing". I checked the file directory of my router (RT-AC68) and it was missing that, not sure what that means.
