Help with QOS — what firmware for NG R7800 are the best for games on ps4?

I have the LEDE firmware on my R7800. The QoS on it is amazing. Whilst monitoring the ping to multiple servers using PingPlotter, the ping does not increase when maxing out the download or upload. This means gaming is almost unaffected by live streaming or from anyone else using the internet.

    Best Router for WiFi Gaming

Is it the 'sqfs-factory.img' file for initial flash, and 'sqfs-sysupgrade.tar' for upgrading?

    Best Router for WiFi Gaming

Thanks dude. Should I flash to hnyman's firmware straight away or do I need to flash to the latest official firmware first? Do I have to build the firmware?

    Best Router for WiFi Gaming

I ordered the R7800 from Amazon. Half the price that I expected to pay for a high-end router, and half the price of the RT-AC5300. The open-source support, 5Ghz performance, overwhelmingly high reviews, and the price sold it for me. The other high price, high performance routers had really mixed...

    Best Router for WiFi Gaming

I am particularly looking for the best 5Ghz coverage as that is what I am using for my PC. The other devices are on 2.4Ghz. So the R7800 does indeed look like a very good option. Can the R7800 use the new 'Cake' QoS? Nevermind, it does: https://forum.lede-project.org/t/build-for-netgear-r7800/316/9

    Best Router for WiFi Gaming

This is my DSLreport speed test result. Not sure why it can't grade the bufferbloat and speed. Quality C concerns me though, and it has been C every time I have tested it since I moved in. I am hoping a better router with stronger WiFi coverage will fix this.

    Best Router for WiFi Gaming

Thanks for the replies. I have been looking for the R7800 but they don't seem to sell it here. They have the D7800 though, with a modem but it seems to have lower specs still. I just read about broadcom being pretty bad and MU-MIMO being pretty useless as well. Just to add, in my current...

    Best Router for WiFi Gaming

I'm in a situation with temporary housing where I am flatting, and can't really expect to be able to connect an ethernet cable from my PC to the router, especially when the room im renting is at the opposite end of the house. So I need to use WiFi, which isn't good for gaming, but will buy a...

    N14/N56/N65 QOS UP/DOWN + BFQ with Padavan's F/W builds

Other good file hosting websites are Ge.tt, Dropcanvas, Dropbox and Mega. This should be implemented straight into Padavans version. More people need to know of this firmware because it's amazing.

    N14/N56/N65 QOS UP/DOWN + BFQ with Padavan's F/W builds

You are a legend. This is working beautifully. Uploading to Youtube plus watching 1080p Youtube would usually result in 500ms-1000ms to google.co.nz. It's now 15ms-30ms. Just changed eth1 to eth3 and set my up/down speeds and qos to YES. Added some gaming ports to the udp express rule too but...

QoS / RT-NxxU firmware builds for QoS

I use to run 071 but youtube would auto to 144p no matter what. I'll check out 072 and see how it is.

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

I stopped using xnor's firmware, youtube autos to 144p every single video and won't change quality as it has already buffered 144p for the whole video too quickly.

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

That's because Padavan removed the QoS. Use xnor's firmware. http://xserv.mooo.com/xnor/linux/rt-nxxu/
