    Upload to new router?

Thank you all, I'll take RMerlin's advice. I want to minimize workload and get it up and running without issue. 😁

    Upload to new router?

I am upgrading the main router from AX3000 to an AXE11000. Can I upload the AX3000 saved file to the AXE11000, giving me a quick start, then massage some of the new and old settings? Or, will it bonk the whole thing? (The 11K is already on the latest Merlin.)

    Asus RT-AX86U with Wireguard VPN.

I contacted Nord just last week. They say Wireguard is NOT supported on routers. A shame they don't advertise that way.

    RT-AC68R Firmware Comparison

If they stock clock at 800 MHz (without overclocking), why is my RT-AC68W stock at 1GHz out of the box? Is it the Rev. B1 doing that?

    Samsung S6 5ghz battery drain (AC68u)

Is your phone connected at AC or just N? I am not getting drain problems at all on a Blackberry Passport hooked at AC speed.

ASUS firmware will change the verification method

I think it is pretty sucky that ASUS can pick and choose just WHAT federal regulation they will comply with. Unless the FCC had more clout with ASUS than the EPA did. All wall wart power supplies were supposed to meet Specification VI by this year. They had two years to get in step. They...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.58 is now available

I started getting sporadic drop issues. I first noticed it on 2.4N while streaming. All of a sudden 0.4MB, yet it shows 4 bars on the screen. My Blackberry started dropping the AC for 5-20 seconds then picking it right back up. All of this started on the 380.58 Final. It was fine on the...

If you don't have speeds in access of 150Mbps whats the point of a AC router ?

$129.00 for an ASUS RT-AC68W isn't really a premium price for name brand as I see it. YMMV. My Blackberry Passport does better than what that Samsung S6 is reading. So you're right I staying with the lower end models.

CPU (core) maxed and seeing wifi disconnects

My phone started doing some AC drop outs after upgrading to 58. It never did it on Alpha, if that helps. Whenever I notice it, I go into the phone advanced wifi mode. Since it never lasts more than 20-30 seconds, it rolls over to 2.4. But I am not ready to blame either the 68W or the phone...

If you don't have speeds in access of 150Mbps whats the point of a AC router ?

68W gets hotter. Mine was running about 127°F on the radios and 159 °F CPU!! The CPU is a GHz dual core though. A 92mm Arctic case fan mounted to the back using a 300mA wall wart dropped it all. 2.4 is 109, 5 is 111, and CPU now runs at 113. It makes almost zero noise.

If you don't have speeds in access of 150Mbps whats the point of a AC router ?

To the OP. My cell phone does AC. There's a reason. Plus, my next (soon) TV will likely have AC also. I don't want to buy ANOTHER router in 6 months. The rt-AC68W was only $129 last month.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.58 is now available

Anyone having issues with DNLA access with this firmware? ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Just checked. Both players seeing DLNA fine--if not faster. I have two NAS with DLNA. Both are equally accessible. And the USB 3.0 on the router.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.58 is now available

I wound up having an issue with getting into the GUI after upgrade. My mouse was fine but nothing worked--no tabs on the side or top. I couldn't do anything after login. It wasn't my machine because all other websites, etc. worked fine. Which aso meant the router was working. I did a reset...
