Hi again, I had to edit my original post as i listed the wrong router i upgraded from. My original router was the RT-AC86U.
By the way the GT-AX6000 is a fantastic router and working so well that for now i wont upgrade the firmware to Rmerlin's.
If it ain't broke don't fix it :)
I just two of them last week from Amazon Europe for £214 only opend the first one as of now, it has a Europe two prong mains connector. But about a £100 saving on each unit if i had bought them in the UK. I can live with using a mains adapter for that kind of price saving. :):):)

I chased up my VPN provider (PIA), they informed me they do not support this for a router based solution.
They also said playing xbox one through VPN would not be good due to increased lag (delays incurred by the very fact of using VPN), I get this and understand.

You sure the problem is not with VirginMedia.
100 Mb/s service is no guarantee of a good service, i had it and had to leave.
At times i was getting less than 1 Mb/s, checkout VM 100 / 120 meg forum.
Just a thought.
