UniFi Access Point Placement - New Build

I don't see an issue with this setup at all. Those maps don't account for walls, furniture, materials etc..... You could move that 2nd AP further into the Foyer. Then you can turn down the 2.4 ghz to 15-18dbm. My house has a transition of -55 to -60dBm and it works great. 500mbps is the...

Honestly a good Router is 300 to 500, 8 Port POE managed switch 300-600 and APs 400-600..... this is what we sell.... Along with that you'll have a place that can service your needs. so for 1200... its a good deal. These are business class solutions being put into homes.....

New Build Home - Home Network Questions

Sounds like 2 APs, an 8 Port POE and Router....

Did you say you have an AP for outside separate from the AC Mesh? Are your wall all sheetrock or are the plaster?

    1. 30" is the standard we install. Typically that's enough for a Wattbox Reboot, Router and POE switch. 2. We usually run one for a wall plate and 2 or 3 to the TV. Yes you can always add a switch. Really your options depend on your usage. 3. This is likely a business class solution. That...
