    Linksys WRT1900AC V2 Firmware Ver. 2.0.6.166464

I just purchased a V2 at a MicroCenter near me last night -- I called a few stores in the area and asked them to check the boxes for the 1.3 ghz Processor on the front and Rev A01 on the back. One sales guy called me back and confirmed those criteria and held the unit for me. I think if you...

266 Firmware no longer on the download page at Asus

I just noticed this; luckily I have the 266 firmware file saved away already. I went to check for new FW and realized the only version that I found to be stable was missing from their site. Odd.

rt-ac66u: FF & IE can't access the adminpage

Are you attempting this from a direct connection to the router or wirelessly?

    RT-AC66U - Disappointing so far...

You are definitely not the only one, there are threads here specifically dedicated to questioning the 5 ghz drop off after days or hours. It probably is FW related, but in the mean time resetting the router or changing the settings seems to temporarily fix the issue.

This is a known issue yet to be resolved.

What firmware are you running? I'm convinced 270 is not a performer.

    RT-AC66U - Disappointing so far...

I just wanted to update everyone on how things are going with my new AC66U (I RMA'd the previous one). The RSSI is about 5-6 points better typically, and I don't seem to have the incredibly sporadic dropoff's that I did with the previous unit. I'm running FM 266 and 100% stock settings for...

    RT-AC66U - Disappointing so far...

I'll give it a try tonight, but I already have a replacement coming from Amazon. If I have the same issues with the next router I'm simply going to get a refund and buy something else.

    RT-AC66U - Disappointing so far...

I believe I mention much earlier in this thread that I did in fact install inSSIDer. My RSSI is about -40 db for 2.4 ghz and about -52 db for 5.0 Ghz. I live in a building that was previously owned by DuPont and used for manufacturing. It has 14" thick reinforced slabs that used to support...

    RT-AC66U - Disappointing so far...

I've spent all together way too much time trying to figure this out. As bad as the 5 Ghz band is, the 2.4 is worse. Much worse. I can barely open the router web page (192.168.1.1) wirelessly on the 2.4 - It takes a considerable amount of time to load.

    RT-AC66U - Disappointing so far...

I just spent some time after I downgraded from firmware 270 to 266 (which is the firmware on the router that I had originally, and was a much better performer) running the same litany of tests. No improvement.

    RT-AC66U - Disappointing so far...

I've also been playing with the Tx power, 50-120 mW in steps of 10. By 100 mW I was @ -50 RSSI and at 120 mW I was at about -48. It seemed that at the power output I couldn't really get a "smooth" connection. While gaming my ping was around 120-125 and very choppy. When playing on my PC...

Edit: Changing the channels didn't work a bit.
