Voxel Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.103SF

    Updated successfully over a NAT.

Voxel Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.102SF

It's in the thread I posted. The workaround does not touch the R7800. it sets up a NAT on the pfsense router to the VLAN network for just the R7800. This means pfsense gets a VLAN IP address when communicating from my subnet to the VLAN subnet, so it's as if a computer on the VLAN network is...

Voxel Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.102SF

@Voxel Do you have any idea what is causing the web-based administrator interface to kick back a 404 error when accessed outside of the subnet? https://www.snbforums.com/threads/log-into-r7800-web-gui-from-different-local-subnet.81128/ I found a workaround, but it's odd that the internal...

Log into R7800 web gui from different local subnet

You're welcome. I still would like to fix the root cause of this, which is with the web server in the R7800, but I can't complain since it works flawlessly.

Log into R7800 web gui from different local subnet

I found a workaround in pfsense! Go to Firewall / NAT / Outbound: Change the Mode to Hybrid and click Save. Create a new mapping as shown. Click Save and Apply the changes. My VLAN is called UNTRUSTED. My main LAN subnet is 192.68.69.0/24 and the R7800 configured as an AP is on the VLAN...

Log into R7800 web gui from different local subnet

I have the same issue and have not found a fix either. I'm wondering if it's got something to do with the router wanting to redirect to routerlogin.net? There's an article on Netgear site that might be relevant...

    Lost power supply for R7800

Thank you both. I found the wall wart, but it's good to know.

    Lost power supply for R7800

Can anyone tell me what the power output is for the power supply that comes with the R7800? I need to replace mine.

What’s the next router to consider?

I'd like to have one SSID for trusted devices and another for untrusted ones. I used to accomplish this by putting all the untrusted devices on the guest network. APs can have multiple SSIDs on different VLANs. OpenWRT can do the same. Stock Netgear firmware cannot. There is a brute force...

What’s the next router to consider?

Yet, if there was a reliable router that used OpenWRT, it would exist.

What’s the next router to consider?

One that has the same range as a router and can do vlans.

What’s the next router to consider?

I bought a Netgate 4100 and use a router as an access point. The problem is that routers don't work well as access points since they don't support VLANs for the guest network. I have not found an acceptable access point yet.

Need Wireless Access Point with VLAN capability

Do I have to mount it on the ceiling? Why do I need two of them and a controller?

Need Wireless Access Point with VLAN capability

Can you recommend one based on the spec of the RAX42? https://www.netgear.com/home/wifi/routers/rax42/

Need Wireless Access Point with VLAN capability

I bought a Netgate 4100 and am using my existing Netgear RAX42 router as an Access Point. I cannot segregate the guest network traffic from the main network traffic. The router firmware does not offer VLAN support in Access Point mode. There are no OpenWrt or DD-wrt firmware options for this...
