Hello all. I am having to reboot my router about once a week because bands will randomly not allow connections and the only way to fix it is to reboot the router. Is there a way to set a reboot schedule on this router?
Most peoples issues are resolved by doing the opposite from reading this thread. I think you have gotten lucky with restore, wish everyone else could. Some people change many settings within the router so I’m sure it’s all user dependent.

I’d have to go through my posts to see when I got it. I’ve had it over a year I’m pretty sure (or close to it). You are probably pretty safe having had it just over half a year but from my experience these sit in the shelf a lot longer at stores than other routers, months and months of not...
There were faulty versions of this router, really early versions. My first router had that issue and I exchanged it for a new one but looked for a different lot number. I’d almost bet your router is faulty. I’d contact ASUS and try to get a replacement.

Downgrade to 648 firmware. The latest firmware is worse than garbage.
I would get the AC model back and put Merlin’s firmware on it.

If you are using the latest firmware, revert back to the last release. That’s what I had to do to get VPN Fusion working again. I was getting the same no traffic passing issue you were before going back to the last firmware.

Not sure if your settings but when you add your VPN don’t make it the default connection. Activate it then setup each device to use that connection. If that’s how you are doing it I’ve read many other posts complaint about express vpn and this router, I use IPVanish and Nord.

I use VPN Fusion with three different devices. It stops passing internet traffic after a day and I have to disconnect the VPN and then reconnect. I figured I’d give the newest firmware another try but it was a bad idea.

Glad to see it’s not just me. This router is so frustrating sometimes. At least the previous firmware was pretty rock solid for me. I am damn tempted to buy something Merlin supports at this point.

This firmware is broken for me. It worked great for a day. I did a factory reset, loaded the new firmware, did another factory reset. Loaded all my settings manually (not restoring) and after a day I can’t get internet through and of the three bands. I’m going back to the previous firmware using...
