    Asuswrt-Merlin donation thread

Just donated. Very grateful for all the hard work from everybody involved, not just the Wizard but all the testers too.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.8_4 is now available

All working smoothly with my setup as already reported by many others but I just wanted to say a special thanks for keeping the RT-AX56U alive. Some appreciation to be donated too :)

    [ 3004.388.7 alpha 2 Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

I'll keep my fingers crossed for that. All efforts to keep the EOL h/w alive much appreciated. RT-AX86U Pro running smoothly on the latest alpha2.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

Thanks. That's something else I can try if it turns out the config file load isn't the problem.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

That's the strangest thing about it. The settings weren't quite lost, just not applied, and it took reapplying the RPi's block to reinstate the one on the CCTV. I can't do any more atm (the family would go mad) but I think you've nailed it there: reloading a config file doesn't automatically...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

Yes, I use the on/off switch but I only drive using the GUI so an iptables rule makes sense. I just which I could identify when it got undone but it's not something I keep checking.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

Exactly the same issue on the RT-AX86U Pro (running 3004.388.6).

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

I have just made a discovery which may be of interest to you depending on how you configure your router. If you can't be bothered to read my waffle, the TL;DR is that the per client Block Internet Access feature is unreliable. Contrary to my current signature, the discovery I made is with my...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 Beta is now available

Also, very happy to see that RT-AX56U is still on life support. Many thanks for that too. Lucky for me I didn't bin it.

Dirty update from alpha1 to beta1 and access restriction list now working as is everything else I have tried. Many thanks.

    [ 3004.388.6 alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

FYI I tried going back to 3.0.0.4.388_24198, loading the most recent .cfg, deleting the access restriction list, saving the updated settings then going back to 388.6_alpha1-gb287d474ae. Without the access restrictions it is possible to update the f/w from Asus stock to Merlin alpha1 without...

    [ 3004.388.6 alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

Feedback from RT-AX86U_PRO users has been a bit mixed but my experience has been pretty positive. I was coming from Asus stock 3.0.0.4.388_24198 but couldn't update to 3004_388.6_alpha1-gb287d474ae until I had done a WPS-reset back to factory defaults on stock and then configured the alpha from...

Asus updates its EOL list, adds RT-AC1750, AC1900P, AC88U, AC5300

The EU's stance on USB-C connectors seems to have been effective with Apple - it needs to threaten the bottom line.

Asus updates its EOL list, adds RT-AC1750, AC1900P, AC88U, AC5300

Thanks, yes. I like Asus h/w but when I look back realise that since 2012 I have had 7 Asus units (two repeaters and five routers) and only the RT-AX86 Pro I have now is still supported - maybe I'm a poor picker but back then I changed from Netgear to Asus as the NG unit had a security...
