Performance is really great on 5G.
My ISP is 500/50 and from 8 meters away (Wifi 5G) with 1 wall between I got still with Wireguard enabled 490+/49.
Setup with GL.iNet GUI is easy and when you really want to dive deep into things you can switch to the Lucy GUI of Openwrt where you can really...
Yesterday I came home from a long travel to Asia for work and had time to open the 1 week ago delivered GL-MT6000.
After unpacking install was very easy. After some fiddeling due to finding out how the software works it's doing quite well (coming from an AX-RT88U).
My ISP offers me over cable...
I pre-ordered the new GL-iNet Flint 2 AX6000 (GL-MT6000) to replace my Asus AX88u.
Main reasons is it is possible to obtain VPN Wireguard speeds up to 900Mbps where the AX88u sucks due to the limitations of the Qualcomm cpu.
Will probably receive it somewhere end of next week and paid as early...
I bought as earlybird the new Flint 2 (GL-MT6000) for $ 93,- including shipment.:
OpenVPN speed up to 190 Mbps; WireGuard® speed up to 900 Mbps
Wi-Fi 6 Max. 1148 Mbps (2.4GHz) + 4804 Mbps (5GHz) Wi-Fi Speeds
Preinstalled with native firmware based on OpenWrt 23.05 (Kernel version 5.15)

Well I always update with the USB stick attached (Diversion and Entware on it) and it always gives no hussle at all.
That means not that one can not have troubles with it attached but for me it just works after every update out of the box.
Only extra I do after updating is powercycle the router...

I can't connect my PC to the router with a UTP cable (rental appartement) so I used an AC-Wifi dongle but I couldn't get the speeds my ISP offered (350Down/35Up).
So I bought a AX-53U and use it in Repeater mode connected over UTP to my PC.
This solution is cheaper than a Wifi-6 dongle but for...
Running beta 3 since it was released on AX-88U and had no hiccups.
Only thing to mention maybe was that after a day or so my wireguard cliënt speed was cut in half.
Disabling and enabling it again solved it, could well be an VPN provider issue but mentioning it is maybe usefull.
Well my VPN provider Torguard supports WireGuard as well and is very simple to set up, just download the config file for your country from their website and import it into WireGuard and done.
It is in fact more simple to set up than with OpenVpn.
So I guess it is depending how serious your VPN...
