Thanks, not sure why that was on.

High RAM usage seemingly causing WiFi to not function

My personal computer is on 10 and my work computer is on 10 but the other work computer here last week is on 11. Not sure on more specific build information. We both shut off the work computers each day and I actually only used my work computer Monday through Wednesday of last week.

High RAM usage seemingly causing WiFi to not function

I did, actually. I just did it again to post here and truncated the list where the decimals for what appears to be %VSZ are 0.0. @RT-BE86U-6588:/tmp/home/root# top -b -n 1 Mem: 636780K used, 380520K free, 3928K shrd, 13152K buff, 59364K cached CPU: 0.0% usr 0.0% sys 0.0% nic 100% idle...

High RAM usage seemingly causing WiFi to not function

I don't believe I did a factory reset after flashing merlin, but it was also a brand new router without a bunch of tweaks to settings. Not sure if that matters, but I did come across people saying something about that during brief research before posting this thread. I don't think it's related...

High RAM usage seemingly causing WiFi to not function

I've had this router in this configuration since either end of Jan or early Feb 2025.

High RAM usage seemingly causing WiFi to not function

I did check the changelog for the new version and saw nothing about this. I have no add-on scripts. Hitron CODA56. TRENDnet TEG-25GECTX in computer. Router connecfted to this NIC. Other ports: 1 goes to work PC, 2 go to NAS (2.5 GbE ports), 1 goes to a TP-Link TL-SG605. Switch had 1 of the...

High RAM usage seemingly causing WiFi to not function

Router is an ASUS RT-BE86U with Merlin Firmware 3006.102.3 Things were fine last night, though a couple times I noticed short connection losses when trying to load websites. I woke up this morning and my phone was disconnected from the WiFi network and wouldn't connect. Tested on laptop and saw...

RT-AX58U suddenly forcing my WAN to 100 Mbps

The information I just explained to you was already explained prior to your post. I explained those things to you again, and you still aren't comprehending. It may be beneficial to your failure to comprehend if you were to read through the thread.

RT-AX58U suddenly forcing my WAN to 100 Mbps

The changes are listed above in the PROs. 100 Mbps was a limit imposed on me by a faulty cable. My internet is sold as 1000/100 but is overprovisioned, and when connecting directly to my modem with a 2.5GbE NIC I experienced 1020 down. I normally get 950 down over 1 GbE. That's a 70 Mbps...

RT-AX58U suddenly forcing my WAN to 100 Mbps

Well the new router should get here tommorrow. However, I was sitting around in my office and researching this further, as I've finally got more free time on my hands and it's really bothering me that this coincidentally happened when I was switching to new cables, added a NIC, and added a...

RT-AX58U suddenly forcing my WAN to 100 Mbps

There is no 2.5G WAN port on this router. It's 1G. It seems odd that it would just stop working during all of these changes, but still not work when I switch back to old cables and remove the switch from the chain entirely. Since it seems like the router is acting up on a firmware level it's...

RT-AX58U suddenly forcing my WAN to 100 Mbps

I tried this too, but I forgot to mention it when I created my list. I've updated my OP now.

RT-AX58U suddenly forcing my WAN to 100 Mbps

Original setup where I got full 1 Gbps: RT-AX58U router (merlin firmware) -> modem router -> X570 Taichi Intel 1Gbit ethernet port I purchased this NIC: TRENDnet TEG-25GECTX and this switch: SODOLA Unmanaged 6-portr POE Switch, 4x 2.5G Base-T & 2x 10G SFP+ and while I am now able to take...

Trying to determine which networking components to purchase for my uses

I have also read some things there that were questionable at very least, but as you said it is the only place (that I saw) that seems to go that much into detail about routers. Thanks everyone for linking more helpful sources.
