Router mode or WAP

Hi I have an annex to existing house. House has bt smart hub. I intend to connect netgear wac124 to provide Ethernet & Wi-Fi to annex. Should I set it up as a WAP or as a router? It defaults to router but I’m unsure if this will cause problems. does having two routers connected together cause...
