    No man, don't let this get to you, I really appreciate you posting this especially since ASUS have forgotten this router. People who doubt its legitimacy should simply ignore it and move on!

    Support just got back to me and told me that I can simply add that line to the .ovpn towards the bottom before this starts: <ca> -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----- Thanks to everyone for trying to help, guess there is no custom configuration to enter in the stock ASUS firmware.

    When I tried it, I still see ads on mobile devices. Also remember, when you install the browser extension, you have many filters you can add such as the annoyances filter which include cookie notices and whatnot.     Still no issues. Official Firmware for me, no Merlin. Never felt any added benefits to me using Merlin Firmware with these new routers. The last Merlin Firmware I used that I did feel it made the router better was back then when I had the AC68U. I feel ASUS' firmware now has gotten much better...
