    AdGuard v. Cloudflare

I'm not well placed to advise since I installed AGH on a VPS, not Merlin. Perhaps somebody on the AGH thread could get you started.

    AdGuard v. Cloudflare

If you go for AdGuard - specifically the ad-blocking DNSs - you’ll likely run into situations where some links just refuse to open, but you won’t be able to do anything about it. I’d consider using AdGuard Home instead. It’s installable via the AMTM menu. AGH is fully configurable: you can set...

OpenVPN vs WireGuard Speeds on RT-AX86U?

I have an AX86U with Merlin 388.2.2. I can get 450-500mbit with NordVPN on WireGuard, with QoS switched off. Apart from much higher speeds, the connection can stay rock solid for weeks at a time.

Solved Wireguard Server, no access to intranet from WAN

I changed to 10.x.x.x remotely, updated the DHCP table and clients, and everything is working well. Thanks

Solved Wireguard Server, no access to intranet from WAN

Thanks, if I chose a 10.x.x.x subnet, would it be as easy as pasting it in the LAN IP page? Would my DCHP server and reservations fall into line?

Solved Wireguard Server, no access to intranet from WAN

I'm using an iPad and found your solution (adding 192.168.1.0/24) gave me access to my local network via WG, which is great. There's one odd exception... Currently I'm away from home, and the IP of the router/gateway happens to be the same as mine, 192.168.1.1. Connected to home via WG, if I...

Using Apple TV with NordVPN / Merlin

I imagine you've turned off DNS Director in the meantime. Otherwise, perhaps a more random issue which rebooting can fix.

Using Apple TV with NordVPN / Merlin

Re question 1), with Strict or Exclusive set, the DNS will be provided by NordVPN via the VPN tunnel, so it's independent of the router. When the VPN is off, you revert to the router's DNS as you have it set on the WAN page. I can't help with 2), sorry. I remember someone did discuss updating...

Using Apple TV with NordVPN / Merlin

There's an easy way to do this on the VPN client settings page (no need to use DNS Director). If "Accept DNS Configuration" is set to "Strict" or "Exclusive", then your Apple TV will use the VPN provider's own DNS while the connection is active. When the VPN is inactive, the Apple TV will...

vpnmgr vpnmgr - Manage and update VPN Client configurations for NordVPN and PIA

Yes, sounds like you need Entware, which is fine to use. You can install it using the amtm command in your terminal.

Using Apple TV with NordVPN / Merlin

Sounds good. I tried their Smart DNS but it didn't support the European services I wanted. Jack Yaz's Vpnmgr add-on would have worked for the router, pulling city-level VPN configs. https://github.com/jackyaz/vpnmgr Keeping the auto update/reload feature disabled means the VPN won't start...

Using Apple TV with NordVPN / Merlin

That's no problem. Re your questions, you'll be sending an ssh command direct from your phone's Shortcuts app to the router. The Apple TV won't need any configuration - it just gets the new VPN connection from the router. When you open the app, press the + button to make a new shortcut, and a...

Using Apple TV with NordVPN / Merlin

You can send ssh commands from iOS shortcuts to start or stop the relevant client, then turn these into homescreen widgets. E.g.: service start_vpnclient1 service stop_vpnclient1 There’s no toggle function, so you’ll need two widgets. My default is UK (VPN off), but I sometimes look at French...

    Yes, it’ll work just fine.
