XT8 strange problem...
I get the exact same thing, but usually it's my macbook that suffers and gets the 169. IP address (2.4ghz works fine, but is much much slower). I have different SSIDs for 2.4 and 5ghz, I'm wondering if people who use the same SSID wouldn't notice as much if the devices jump to 2.4ghz...- Steve L

Thanks for the reply! :) I have tried other channels, and used a "Wifi Analyser" app on my phone. I see neighbours wifi on channels 1, 6 and 11 - but they do appear and disappear (not overly strong). I'm currently on channel 8 (the others on 6 and 11 had a lower strength) and I've also tried...- Steve L

I still can't figure out why my 2.4ghz network is so rubbish on the XT8 either. I've tried tweaking most of the settings (wireless tab and professional) I can (to the point where older devices are unable to connect) and numerous factory resets. ZenWifi XT8 AX Access Problem
A lot of these issues sound familiar to me - I have a love/hate relationship with the XT8 since I got it. I love what it promises, but I hate that sometimes the 5ghz network will work but the 2.4ghx will stop working, or the opposite way around. IP cameras don't seem to like it unless I...- Steve L

ZenWiFi XT8 Double NAT
@DeNeo I got this router and sky broadband working too, after I'd upgraded from an older router with merlin & option 61 enabled. So I was a bit nervous whether it would work without a custom firmware, but it does ... here's what I did. I got a refurb'd HG612 openreach modem from here...- Steve L
