Could someone explain what "Added support for static routes for PPTP/L2TP VPN clients, on the Static Route page (themiron)" means? Does that mean that we can set set some of our devices with static IPs to use the VPN connection while others use the home internet connection, or does it mean that...
Then what does this mean?
“5. If the AmpliFi router is connected to another router (or a modem/router combo provided by the ISP) there will be two routers acting as "gate keepers" and performing all router duties twice, slowing down the network.”...
my Amplifii router that is grabbing my landlords signal is on the farther end of the dB range of the main router. I wonder if my computer is getting mesh packets from multiple access points when I connect to the main network vs just my router when I connect to my own network?
One other question: when my computer connects to my Amplifii Instant router (which also serves as a mesh node), I am getting speeds of 50 mbps. When I connect to the AX-88U (which is connected via Ethernet to the Amplifii) I am getting speeds of 10 mbps. What is causing this speed discrepancy...
I have no current issues at the moment, but I plan on buying a PS5 and bringing in an Xbox One and I foresee problems.
@CrystalLattice - are you saying that double NAT isn’t feasible to play on nowadays with current gaming standards or that it does not matter as much as it used to? Thanks.
Hey guys,
I have what I feel is an unavoidable Double-NAT setup. I am getting internet from my landlord who is considerate enough to allowing me to use his wifi, but he also uses it with his devices. I have a Merlin configured AX-88U, which is connected via ethernet to an AmpliFi node getting a...
What does this mean? I was under the impression that this meant that the number before the last dot in the IP would need to be the same (ex: 192.168.1.1).
Hi guys,
I'm trying to play Monopoly for iPad with my family that lives far away but it only offers local wifi support for multiplayer, so I tried to set up a VPN through my Merlin AC66U and I still can't see or join games created by the host when we are all connected to it. I first tried the...
Thanks for the writeup. Can you be more specific with the download tar ball or zip and make an init file? I have optware set up but I only know how to follow simple instructions. I don't know python.
Can a kind soul with the RT-AC66U tell me how well this runs on it? I feel like the newer firmwares are bloated and are focused on the higher end routers, while the poor AC66, while being able to support the firmware, is left in the dust with constant drops and disconnects. 380.57 kept dropping...
